Conclusi i test a Misano. Mahias si migliora, Oettl è ancora il più veloce

Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing ha concluso oggi al Misano World Circuit due giornate di prove, in preparazione alla stagione 2021. Nella classe Superbike il francese Lucas Mahias ha confermato i suoi costanti progressi. Oggi ha percorso 58 giri, lavorando con il proprio team all’assetto della sua Ninja adattando il suo stile di guida alla nuova categoria. Con un giro in 1’34”806 il transalpino è riuscito a migliorare di oltre un secondo il suo tempo di ieri.
In Supersport Philipp Oettl ha dimostrato ancora una volta tutto il suo potenziale e quello della sua ZX-6R risultando per il secondo giorno il pilota più veloce in pista. Se ieri il tedesco era stato più veloce del record della pista di Misano, oggi ha concluso a due decimi dal giro veloce del tracciato in 1’37”711.
Giornata non facile per Can Oncu, che ha debuttato solo ieri sulla Kawasaki del team di Manuel Puccetti. Il turco questa mattina è stato vittima di una scivolata, nella quale ha danneggiato la propria moto. Per qu3sto motivo non ha potuto completare tutto il programma di lavoro che si era prefissato. Il suo best lap è stato di 1’39”255
Il prossimo appuntamento in pista per il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing è fissato all’Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello nel primo round del CIV Campionato Italiano velocità del 17 e 18 aprile.

“Sono stati due giornate molto positive. Mahias è stato costantemente veloce sia con la gomma da gara che con quella da qualifica e si sta adattando in fretta alla Superbike. Oettl ha confermato le eccellenti prestazioni di ieri ed è stato il più veloce dei piloti Supersport, dimostrando di essere già in perfetta forma. Oncu è stato vittima di una scivolata che ha danneggiato la moto e che ci ha fatto perdere tempo, ma ha trovato un buon feeling con la squadra e con la sua ZX-6R. Sono soddisfatto di questa nostra prima uscita del 2021”.

“Test positivi ed importanti per me che sono al debutto in Superbike. Sono stato veloce ed ho migliorato il tempo di ieri, ma la cosa più importante è che abbiamo lavorato molto sulla moto e che mi trovo sempre più a mio agio con la squadra. Abbiamo ancora molto lavoro da svolgere. Sono veloce sul giro, ma devo lavorare maggiormente sul passo gara e quindi non vedo l’ora di tornare in pista per continuare a migliorarmi”.

“Una giornata dai due volti, positiva sino alla mia scivolata che ha poi condizionato il resto delle prove. La squadra ha fatto un lavoro incredibile sistemando al meglio la mia moto in poco tempo. Questo mi ha permesso di tornare in pista e di lavorare sul passo gara più che sul tempo sul giro. Ora non vedo l’ora di tornare sulla mia moto e di correre le gare del CIV al Mugello”.

“Due giorni davvero importanti questi di Misano. Ieri ci eravamo concentrati maggiormente sulle sospensioni, mentre questa mattina abbiamo testato delle nuove gomme. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo ripreso il lavoro sulle sospensioni e sui freni. Sono stato costantemente veloce e questo è un fattore importante in ottica gara. La squadra ha fatto come sempre un lavoro eccezionale e non abbiamo avuto nessun problema. Ora sono ansioso di correre al Mugello, una pista che mi piace molto e dove proveremo altre nuove soluzioni, anche grazie ai dati che abbiamo raccolto in queste due giornate”.

The Misano tests conclude. Mahias improves, Oettl is still the fastest

Kawasaki Puccetti Racing has concluded a two-day test at the Misano World Circuit in preparation for the 2021 season. In the Superbike class, Frenchman Lucas Mahias has continued to make constant progress. Today he completed 58 laps, working with his team on the set-up of his Ninja and adapting his riding style to the new category. With a time of 1’34”806, he was able to improve on yesterday’s reference by more than one second.
In Supersport, Philipp Oettl has once again demonstrated both his potential and that of the ZX-6R, proving to be the quickest rider on track once again today. Yesterday saw him beat the Misano lap record, while today he finished two tenths off that time, setting a 1’37”711.
A difficult day for Can Oncu, who only made his debut with the Puccetti Kawasaki yesterday. The Turk suffered a crash this morning, and this damaged his bike, meaning that he was unable to complete the full work schedule. Oncu set a fastest time of 1’39”255.
Kawasaki Puccetti Racing will return to the track on 17-18 April when it will compete in the first round of the Italian CIV championship at the Mugello circuit.

“Two very positive days. Mahias has been consistently fast with both race and qualifying tyres and is quickly adapting to the Superbike. Oettl has confirmed yesterday’s excellent performance and was again the quickest of the Supersport riders, proving to be in great shape already. Oncu suffered a crash that damaged his bike and caused him to lose time, but he’s found good feeling with his team and his ZX-6R. I’m pleased with our first 2021 sessions”.

I was quick and improved on yesterday’s time, but the important thing is that we’ve worked hard on the bike and that I’m increasingly comfortable with the team. We still have a lot to do. I’m fast over the flying lap but need to work more on my race pace, so I can’t wait to return to the track and keep improving”.

“A day of two halves, positive until my crash, which then conditioned the rest of the test. The team did an incredible job of fixing my bike so quickly. This allowed me to get back on track and work on my race pace, rather than the lap times. Now I’m excited to get back on the bike and compete in the first CIV race at Mugello”.

“Two very important days here at Misano. Yesterday we focused more on the suspension, while this morning we tested the new tyres. Then, this afternoon, we worked more on the suspension and brakes. I was consistently fast, and this is important ahead of the races. The team’s done an amazing job as always and we had no issues. I’m keen to race at Mugello now, a track I really like and where we’ll test some new solutions, also thanks to the data we’ve collated here”.
