Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing al primo round del CIV al Mugello

Il primo round del Campionato mondiale Superbike e Supersport si avvicina e quale miglior modo per prepararsi se non quello di disputare le prove e le gare del CIV Campionato Italiano Velocità 2021? Così come lo scorso anno il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing era stato presente al primo round del CIV 2020 che si era corso al Misano World Circuit, anche in questa stagione i piloti della squadra di Manuel Puccetti saranno impegnati nel primo round del Campionato Italiano che quest’anno inizia all’Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello nel weekend del 16, 17 e 18 aprile.
Nella classe Supersport Can Oncu e Philipp Oettl utilizzeranno le stesse Kawasaki ZX-6R con le quali disputeranno il WorldSS, mentre in Superbike Lucas Mahias scenderà in pista con la ZX-10RR in versione 2021. Tutti e tre disputeranno prove, qualifiche e le due gare (una al sabato e un’altra la domenica), ma non correndo con moto conformi ai regolamenti del CIV non verranno inclusi nelle classifiche, e di conseguenza non acquisiranno eventuali punti.
Dopo aver svolto due proficue giornate di prove al Misano World Circuit il 15 e 16 marzo scorsi, questo appuntamento del Mugello sarà un test molto impegnativo sia per lo staff tecnico che per Mahias, Oncu e Oettl, che avranno modo non solo di confrontarsi con alcuni tra i migliori piloti italiani e con altre wild card mondiali, ma permetterà loro di entrare in “clima gara”, per arrivare così pronti al primo round del mondiale, che si disputerà dal 21 al 23 maggio al Motorland Aragon in Spagna.

Le gare 2021 dell’ELF CIV saranno visibili su Sky Sport MotoGP, sulla pagina facebook del Campionato Italiano Velocità, in live streaming sui siti Motosprint, Eleven Sport, civ.tv e su MS MotorTV.

“Sarà la mia prima volta in assoluto sulla pista del Mugello e non vedo l’ora di conoscere quello che da molti è considerato uno dei migliori circuiti al mondo. Sono contento di tornare sulla mia Ninja e di lavorare con la mia squadra in preparazione al mondiale. Cercherò di incrementare il mio feeling con la moto e di adattare il mio stile di guida alla Superbike. Utilizzerò la Ninja in versione 2020, ma con molti aggiornamenti 2021. So che il livello del CIV è molto alto e non sarà facile tener testa ai piloti italiani, anche perché oltre a non conoscere la pista devo anche lavorare sulla moto, ma sarà senza dubbio una bellissima esperienza”.

“Non vedo l’ora di essere al Mugello, di tornare a lavorare con la mia squadra e di salire sulla mia Ninja. Nei test di Misano mi sono trovato davvero a mio agio sia con il team che con la moto, e sono certo che anche questo appuntamento del Mugello sarà divertente e proficuo per quanto riguarda la preparazione al mondiale. Sarà importante poter disputare le prime due gare della stagione e confrontarsi con i piloti del CIV. Per noi sarà solo un allenamento, ma naturalmente ci impegneremo al massimo per ben figurare”.

“Sono felice di poter correre su una delle piste che mi piacciono maggiormente. Ci ho già corso in Moto3 e Moto2, ma sarà la mia prima volta con una 600. Spero che il meteo sia favorevole perché abbiamo molte cose da provare. Assieme al mio team abbiamo concordato un programma di lavoro importante sia per testare cose nuove che per confermare quanto abbiamo già provato a Misano. Non vedo l’ora di disputare le prime gare della stagione. Ho visto già lo scorso anno che nel CIV ci sono molti bravi piloti, ma per me più che il risultato sarà importante trovare il giusto feeling con la mia moto”.

Kawasaki Puccetti Racing set for the opening CIV round at Mugello

The first rounds of the Superbike and Supersport world championships are approaching and what better way to prepare than by competing in the 2021 Italian CIV championship practices and races? Like last year when Kawasaki Puccetti Racing took part in the opening 2020 round at the Misano World Circuit, Manuel Puccetti’s riders will once again compete in the first CIV races, set to play out at the Mugello circuit over the weekend of 16-18 April.
In the Supersport class, Can Oncu and Philipp Oettl will ride the Kawasaki ZX-6R bikes they use in WorldSS, while in Superbike Lucas Mahias will take to the track with the 2020 version of the ZX-10RR. All three will take part in practice, qualifying and the two races (one on Saturday, one Sunday) but, competing with bikes that don’t meet with the CIV regulations, they will not feature in the standings and so will not score any points.
After a very productive two-day test at the Misano World Circuit on 15-16 March, this Mugello event will serve as another important test for both the team’s technical staff and Mahias, Oncu and Oettl, who will not only have the possibility to line up against some of the best Italian riders and international wildcards, but also get into “race mode”, ready for the first round of the world championship, taking place from 21 to 23 May at Motorland Aragon in Spain.

The 2021 ELF CIV races will be broadcast on Sky Sport MotoGP, on the CIV Facebook page, and in live streaming on the Motosprint, Eleven Sport, civ.tv and MS MotorTV sites.

“It will be my first visit to Mugello and I cannot wait to get to know what many consider to be one of the best circuits in the world. I’m pleased to get back on my Ninja and work with my team in preparation for the world championship. I’ll try to improve my feeling with the bike and adapt my riding style to the Superbike. I’ll use the Ninja in its 2020 version, but with many 2021 updates. I know the CIV level is very high, and it won’t be easy to keep up with the Italians, also because, in addition to not knowing the track, I also need to work on the bike, but it will be a great experience”.
