| The penultimate round of the FIM WorldSBK 2018 season will be a surprise for everyone. In fact, for the first time in history, the factory derivative world championship will be competing in South America at the brand new Argentinian race track of El Villicum. The circuit has been recently completed in 2018 and it will be hosting the twelfth round of the Superbike series as first ever event. Situated in the south of Argentina, in San Juan Province and not too far from the famous “Ruta 40”, one of the most enchanting road of the world that goes through the country from North to South along the Andes for 5000 km, the track is 4.266 km long and its layout has 19 corners, 11 left and 8 right. For the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team and its rider Toprak Razgatlioglu the race weekend will be as well a brand new experience. After having conquered respectively an eighth and twelfth position in Race 1 and Race 2 at Magny Cours, the Turkish rider hopes to end the Argentinian round with another good performance. The race venue will be new to everyone and Razgatlioglu hopes to take advantage of this, as all his rivals will be starting from zero in learning the new layout. During his first season in the top class, Toprak was able to conquer already twelve top ten results, one of this a second place on the podium in Race 2 at Donington Park. With only 4 races left in the two rounds remaining out of Europe, the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing's rookie aims to conquer as much point as possible to secure the top ten in the 2018 general standings that currently sees him sitting in tenth position. In WorldSSP Hikari Okubo, who was ninth at the end of the last European round at Magny Cours, hopes to complete the Argentinian race weekend with an improved performance on board the Kawasaki ZX-6R machine, aiming to score a top 5 result. His team-mate Héctor Barberá finished tenth both his first two races with the team in WorldSSP in Portugal and France and he is now confident to be able to prove his talent on a race track that will be new for everyone and not just for himself. After having worked hard with his crew, the Spaniard declared that he is now close to a bike setup that really suites his riding style. The Kawasaki Puccetti Racing's team riders will be back out on track for the first time ever at El Villicum starting from Friday 12th October at 9:45 AM (GMT -3.00) for the first WorldSBK free practice session. |
