Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Debutto in SBK per Mahias nei test di Jerez

Non è trascorso nemmeno un mese dalla conclusione dei campionati mondiali Superbike e Supersport e per il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing è già tempo di tornare in pista a Jerez de la Frontera in Spagna, dove il 17 e 18 novembre svolgerà due giornate di prove con il proprio pilota Superbike 2021, Lucas Mahias.
Il pilota francese ha gareggiato nelle ultime quattro stagioni nel mondiale Supersport laureandosi Campione del Mondo nel 2017 e conquistando in totale 7 pole position, 29 podi e 9 vittorie, l’ultima delle quali ottenuta nell’ultima gara del 2020 sulla pista portoghese dell’Estoril. Grazie alle sue doti di guida ed alla sua grande determinazione Manuel Puccetti, Team Principal del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, ha deciso di promuoverlo nella classe regina delle derivate dalla serie, ed il debutto di Lucas sulla Kawasaki ZX-10RR avverrà il 17 novembre sulla pista di Jerez, in occasione della due giorni di test che vedrà impegnate molte squadre del mondiale Superbike 2021.
Un’ottima occasione per Mahias per iniziare a prendere confidenza con il suo nuovo staff tecnico, con la sua nuova moto e con le gomme Pirelli SBK.

Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “Siamo contenti di iniziare questa nuova avventura con Lucas in Superbike. Siamo consapevoli che gli debba essere concesso il tempo necessario per adattarsi alla moto, al team ed alle gomme, ma siamo certi delle sue grandi potenzialità. A mio parere la sua guida si adatta meglio alla Superbike che non alla Supersport, dove Lucas ha comunque ottenuto eccellenti risultati. Siamo convinti che potremo fare un’ottima stagione insieme e siamo ansiosi di iniziare a lavorare al nostro progetto 2021 sin da questi test di Jerez”.

“Sono davvero entusiasta di poter salire sulla mia nuova moto. La pista di Jerez è forse la più indicata per iniziare a comprendere le caratteristiche della Ninja ed inoltre è ovviamente un tracciato che conosco molto bene. E’ molto importante che ai test partecipino anche altri piloti Kawasaki, in modo da poter avere un riferimento sia in pista che nei riscontri cronometrici. In questi giorni ho provato in circuito una moto da 1000cc per iniziare a comprendere come dovrò modificare il mio stile di guida, e non vedo l’ora di iniziare a lavorare con la mia squadra!”

Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – SBK debut for Mahias at Jerez test

Not even a month has passed since the Superbike and Supersport world championships concluded but for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing it’s already time to return to the track. On 17-18 November, the squad will be at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, for a two-day test with its 2021 Superbike rider Lucas Mahias.
The French rider has competed in the last four seasons of World Supersport, earning the world champion title in 2017 and scoring a total of 7 pole positions, 29 podiums and 9 race wins, the latest obtained in the final 2020 race at the Portuguese track of Estoril.
Considering his riding talents and determination, Manuel Puccetti, Team Principal for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, has decided to promote him to the reigning class of the production-derived series. Lucas’ debut on the Kawasaki ZX-10RR will come on 17 November at the Jerez circuit, during a two-day test session which will see many of the 2021 Superbike teams take to the track.
A great opportunity for Mahias to start building confidence with his new technical staff, his bike, and the Pirelli SBK tyres.

We’re aware that he will need time to adapt to the bike, the team and the tyres, but we trust in his great potential. In my opinion, his riding is better suited to Superbike than Supersport, a category in which he has nevertheless scored excellent results. We’re convinced that we can have a strong season together and we’re keen to start work on our 2021 project as of this upcoming Jerez test.”

The Jerez track is probably the most suitable in terms of understanding the characteristics of the Ninja, and it’s a layout I know very well of course. It’s very important that other Kawasaki riders will take part in the tests, so we can have a reference both on track and in terms of lap times. I’ve recently tested a 1000cc bike on track to start to understand how to modify my riding style, and now I can’t wait to start working with my team!”
