Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing è a Donington Park per proseguire il momento positivo in SBK e in SS

Dopo il doppio podio conquistato nel settimo round di Misano Adriatico con Lucas Mahias, terzo nella gara del mondiale Supersport, e Toprak Razgatlioglu secondo in gara2 nel mondiale Superbike, il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing è ora a Donington Park in Inghilterra per l’ottavo round di entrambi i campionati.
Il circuito di Donington Park è situato nei pressi di Castle Donington, nelle Midlands Orientali, nella contea del Leicestershire, non lontano dalla foresta di Sherwood.
La lunghezza della pista è di 4.020 metri, con 7 curve a destra e 5 a sinistra, e si percorre in senso orario. Il tracciato raggiunse questa lunghezza nel 1985, dopo i lavori di ampliamento che portarono alla realizzazione del tratto posto alle spalle del paddock e denominato Melbourne Loop. La pista inglese si trova all’interno di un anfiteatro naturale che favorisce la visione agli spettatori. E’ un tracciato misto-veloce con saliscendi ed ampie curve, che obbligano i piloti a brusche frenate ed accelerazioni. Dopo i lavori di ristrutturazione le uniche variazioni rispetto al precedente tracciato si possono trovare nelle nuove e più scorrevoli curve denominate Fogarty Esses e Roberts. Pertanto i tempi sul giro ottenuti a partire dal 2011 non sono direttamente confrontabili con quelli degli anni precedenti.

Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing arriva in Inghilterra per confermare il periodo positivo, culminato con la pole position ed il terzo posto di Lucas Mahias nell’ultimo round del Misano World Circuit. Il pilota francese ha ora la consapevolezza di poter puntare al podio in ogni gara, così come il suo compagno di squadra Hikari Okubo. Il giapponese è quarto nella classifica del campionato con 70 punti, seguito da Mahias con 66.

A Misano così come a Imola, il Turkish Puccetti Racing ha utilizzato sulla moto di Toprak Razgatlioglu la prestigiosa livrea ELF, che ha sancito l’ultra decennale accordo tra la squadra di Manuel Puccetti e Total Italia. In Inghilterra tornerà invece la grafica che da inizio stagione caratterizza la Kawasaki ZX-10RR di Toprak, che ha tutte le intenzioni di non scendere dal podio del mondiale Superbike sul quale è salito in tutti gli ultimi tre round : terzo a Imola e Jerez e secondo nell’ultima gara di Misano. Risultati fantastici che confermano non solo la continua maturazione del giovane talento turco, ma anche la grande competitività della Ninja preparata dai tecnici del Turkish Puccetti Racing. Nella classifica del campionato Razgatlioglu è al momento in sesta posizione con 121 punti.

Lucas Mahias: “Il podio conquistato a Misano, il mio primo con la Kawasaki, rappresenta per noi un punto di partenza e non di arrivo. Stiamo lavorando incessantemente dall’inizio della stagione ed ora finalmente iniziamo a raccogliere i frutti del nostro impegno. La pista di Donington mi piace. E’ un tracciato con parti lente e parti veloci ed è divertente. Due anni fa qui ho conquistato il secondo posto e quest’anno spero di lottare per la vittoria”.

Hikari Okubo: “La pista di Donington mi piace molto anche se sino ad ora qui non ho ottenuto dei grandi risultati. Lo scorso weekend ho corso come wild card nel campionato italiano anche per tenermi in allenamento e sono quindi pronto per continuare a lottare per il podio, che resta il mio obiettivo primario. Spero solo che il clima sia favorevole, perché spesso in UK è molto variabile”.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Due volte terzo ed una volta secondo. Ci manca solo un gradino del podio. A parte gli scherzi sono davvero felice di correre a Donington Park dove lo scorso anno ho conquistato il mio podio in Superbike e dove vinsi la gara della Stock 1000 nel 2017. La pista è adatta al mio stile di guida e la mia Ninja è molto competitiva per cui spero di poter proseguire la striscia di risultati positivi, che ha caratterizzato i nostri ultimi tre round”.

Kawasaki Puccetti Racing is at Donington Park to continue the positive trend in SBK and SS

After the double podium scored during round seven at Misano with Lucas Mahias, third in the World Supersport race, and Toprak Razgatlioglu second in World Superbike race 2, Kawasaki Puccetti Racing is now at Donington Park in the UK for round eight of both championships.
The Donington Park is located close to Castle Donington, in the county of Leicestershire in the East Midlands, not far from Sherwood Forest.
The track, which runs in a clockwise direction, is 4020 metres in length, with 7 right-handers and 5 left-handers. The track reached its current length in 1985, following expansion work that involved the creation of the section behind the paddock known as the Melbourne Loop. The English track is located inside a natural amphitheatre which is a bonus for the spectators. The mixed, fast track features undulating sections and some wide turns that force rider to brake and accelerate hard. Following the restructuring work, the only changes compared to the previous layout lie in the new and more flowing turns known as the Fogarty Esses and Roberts. So, lap times achieved as of 2011 cannot be directly compared with those of previous years.
Kawasaki Puccetti Racing arrives in the UK to confirm its recent positive trend, which culminated with the pole position and third place Lucas Mahias scored during the latest round at the Misano World Circuit. The French rider is now aware he can fight for the podium each week, as can his team-mate Hikari Okubo. The Japanese lies fourth in the championship standings with 70 points, followed by Mahias on 66.
At Misano, like Imola, Turkish Puccetti Racing adorned Toprak Razgatlioglu’s bike with the prestigious ELF livery, to mark the long-term agreement between Manuel Puccetti’s team and Total Italia. In the UK, Toprak’s Kawasaki ZX-10RR will be back to its usual graphics, the rider having every intention of remaining on the podium he has been on in the last three consecutive rounds, third at Imola and Jerez and second at the latest Misano round. Fantastic results that confirm not only the young Turkish rider’s maturity, but also the great competitiveness of the Ninja prepared by the Turkish Puccetti Racing technicians. In the championship standings Razgatlioglu is in sixth place with 121 points.

Lucas Mahias: “The podium scored at Misano, my first with the Kawasaki, represents a starting point and not an end point for us. We have been working incessantly since the start of the year and are finally seeing the fruit of our labours. I like the Donington track. It has some slow and other fast sections and is fun to ride. I scored second place here two years ago and hope to fight for the win this time around”.

Hikari Okubo: “I really like the Donington track though I haven’t yet scored great results here. Last weekend, I raced in the Italian championship as a wildcard, to keep up my training, and so I’m ready to continue to fight for the podium, which remains my main goal. I hope the weather is favourable, as it can be very variable in the UK”.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Two thirds and one second, now we’re just missing the top step of the podium. Joking aside, I’m really pleased to race at Donington Park where I scored my first Superbike podium last year, and where I won the Stock1000 race in 2017. The track suits my riding style and my Ninja is very competitive so I hope we can continue the recent trend of positive results seen over the last three rounds”.
