Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Lucas Mahias in Superbike nel 2021
Lucas Mahias nel 2021 disputerà il Campionato Mondiale Superbike 2021 con il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing.
Il francese è da due anni il pilota di punta della squadra italiana in Supersport, dimostrando con continuità il suo grande talento e la sua grande determinazione, qualità che hanno spinto Manuel Puccetti insieme a Kawasaki Motors Europe a promuoverlo nella classe regina, e ad affidargli la Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.
Nato il 14 aprile 1989 a Mont de Marsan in Francia, nel corso della sua carriera Mahias ha dimostrato di essere un pilota eclettico, in grado di adattarsi a diversi tipi di moto. La sua prima apparizione in un campionato mondiale avviene nel 2013 in Moto2. L'anno successivo disputa ancora alcune gare nel mondiale Moto2, e debutta sia nel mondiale Supersport che nel mondiale endurance EWC. Inoltre si laurea Campione francese Supersport.
Nel 2015 è impegnato nelle stesse categorie, mentre l'anno successivo debutta nel Mondiale Superbike con la Kawasaki del Team Pedercini nel round di Assen, vince una gara del mondiale EWC ed ottiene 2 vittorie, 3 podi ed 1 pole position nella Superstock 1000 FIM Cup. Nel 2017 è il grande protagonista del mondiale Supersport e si laurea Campione del Mondo. Nel 2018 è vice-campione del mondo Supersport. La stagione seguente entra a far parte del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing ed in questi ultimi due anni ha ottenuto un totale di 3 vittorie, 13 podi ed 1 pole position.

Accompagnare i nostri piloti dalle classi Stock o dalla Supersport sino alla classe maggiore è nel DNA del nostro team ed in precedenza lo abbiamo fatto con piloti come Franco Morbidelli, Michael Rinaldi, Randy Krummenacher e Toprak Razgatlioglu. Sono convinto che Mahias sia un grande talento, un pilota concreto e sempre molto motivato. Correre in Superbike è sempre stato il suo sogno e quindi sono sicuro che profonderà il massimo impegno per ottenere i migliori risultati. Da parte nostra faremo di tutto per aiutarlo ad adattarsi alla nuova moto ed alla nuova categoria, senza mettergli pressione. Non appena conosceremo il calendario 2021 programmeremo alcuni test per arrivare pronti all'inizio del campionato”.
Lucas Mahias: “Sono entusiasta di poter disputare il mondiale Superbike. E' sempre stato l'obiettivo della mia carriera, ed arrivarci con la Kawasaki e con il Puccetti Racing è una cosa fantastica. In passato ho corso due gare in Superbike ed ho utilizzato una 1000 in Superstock e nel mondiale Endurance, ma so che la ZX-10RR è una moto molto potente e competitiva, e non vedo l'ora di poterci salire. Nella mia carriera agonistica avevo due obiettivi, il primo era diventare Campione del Mondo della Supersport ed il secondo vincere il mondiale Superbike. Il primo l'ho realizzato ed ora darò il massimo per realizzare anche il secondo. So che è un campionato molto difficile, ma potrò disporre di una grande team e di una moto competitiva. Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Lucas Mahias in Superbike in 2021
Lucas Mahias will compete for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing in the WorldSBK Championship in 2021.
The Frenchman has been the Italian team's Supersport rider of choice for two years, continually proving his significant talent and great determination; qualities that have encouraged Manuel Puccetti along with Kawasaki Motors Europe to promote him to the premier class and entrust him with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.
Born on 14 April 1989 in Mont de Marsan, France, throughout his career Mahias has shown to be an eclectic rider, more than able to adapt to different bikes. His first appearance on the world stage came in 2013, in Moto2. The following year he competed in several Moto2 races, made his debut in both World Supersport and World Endurance, and was crowned French Supersport champion.
In 2015 he continued to race in the same categories, while the following year saw him make his debut in World Superbike appearance with Team Pedercini's Kawasaki at the Assen round. He also won a World Endurance race and scored two wins, three podiums and a pole position in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup. In 2017 he played a starring role in World Supersport and was crowned World Champion. In 2018 he was runner-up Supersport World Champion.
The following season, he joined Kawasaki Puccetti Racing and has scored three wins, twelve podiums and one pole position with the squad to date.

In signing Lucas I can say we made a good decision. He has always given 100% effort for the team and to manage the Ninja ZX-6R so well each season at the sharp end of the racing. We felt it was now his time to move up to the premier WorldSBK category inside our top satellite team and demonstrate what he can do there together with a great crew inside Puccetti racing team and a championship winning bike in the Ninja ZX-10RR.”

I had two aims in my sporting career, the first was to become WorldSSP champion and the second is to win the Superbike World Championship. Having achieved the first, I'll now do everything I can to obtain the second too. I know it's a very tough championship, but I'll have a great team and a competitive bike on my side.
