Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing in pista a Magny-Cours a caccia di altri podi mondiali

Si disputeranno questo fine settimana sulla pista di Nevers Magny-Cours in Francia il decimo round del campionato mondiale Supersport e l’undicesimo del campionato mondiale Superbike.
Costruita nel 1960, la pista francese cadde in disuso sino a quando il consiglio dipartimentale della Nièvre lo acquistò e lo rilanciò a livello internazionale. Molte delle curve della pista transalpina hanno il nome di altri circuiti, in quanto riproducono le traiettorie di curve presenti su altre piste. E’ stato oggetto di lavori di ammodernamento negli anni 80 ed in seguito ha subito solo pochi ritocchi Dal 1991 il circuito ospitò 18 edizioni del Gran Premio di Francia di F1, mentre attualmente viene utilizzato per svariati eventi motoristici, comprese le gare dei mondiali delle derivate dalla serie.

Nei precedenti tre appuntamenti con il mondiale delle 600 il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing ha conquistato altrettanti terzi posti e podi con il pilota Lucas Mahias, mentre Hikari Okubo ha incontrato alcune difficoltà di messa a punto sulla sua Kawasaki ZX-6R che gli hanno impedito di esprimere tutto il suo potenziale. Quando mancano solo tre gare al termine del campionato Mahias occupa la quarta posizione della classifica generale con 98 punti, seguito in quinta posizione da Okubo con 82.

Lucas Mahias: “Questa è la mia gara di casa e sono contento di poter correre davanti al mio pubblico e ai tutti gli amici che verranno a sostenermi. Negli anni passati qui ho ottenuto un terzo ed un quarto posto mentre nel 2016 ho vinto la gara della Superstock 1000. Vengo da tre terzi posti consecutivi, ma sfruttando la mia conoscenza della pista questa volta cercherò di puntare alla vittoria”.

Hikari Okubo: “Nelle ultime gare non sono riuscito a conquistare i risultati che volevo e quindi non vedo l’ora di scendere in pista a Magny Cours per tornare sui livelli che mi sono abituali. Anche se mi piace, su questa pista non ho mai ottenuto risultati di rilievo e quindi questa volta voglio rompere il ghiaccio e cercherò di salire sul podio, ma dovremo partire subito bene nelle libere, trovando in fretta un buon assetto per la mia moto”.

Otto podi negli ultimi sei round. Questo il fantastico ruolino di marcia di Toprak Razgatlioglu, il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing che si è ormai stabilmente posizionato tra i top rider del mondiale Superbike, anche grazie alla competitività della sua moto, abilmente preparata dai tecnici del team di Manuel Puccetti. Lo scorso anno, quello del suo debutto in Superbike, il giovane pilota turco andò a punti, ma questa volta l’obiettivo è quello di continuare a salire sul podio, puntando sempre al gradino più alto.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “La pista di Magny-Cours mi piace. Alcune staccate decise e la variante prima del traguardo sono molto impegnative, ma mi divertono e spesso riesco a guadagnare qualcosa sui miei avversari. Vengo da un trend di risultati molto positivo, ma mi manca quella vittoria che dall’inizio dell’anno rappresenta il mio obiettivo principale. Spero di trovare subito il set up giusto per dare il massimo ed ottenere i migliori risultati possibili”.

Kawasaki Puccetti Racing on track at Magny Cours and seeking more championship podiums

The tenth round of the Supersport world championship and the eleventh round of the Superbike world championship are taking place this weekend at the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit in France.
Built in 1960, the French track fell into disuse until the Nièvre regional council acquired it and relaunched it at international level. Many of the French track’s corners take their names from other tracks, in that they reproduce the trajectories of turns present at other tracks. The circuit underwent renovation work during the 80s and since then only small-scale work has been carried out. From 1991, the circuit hosted 18 editions of the French F1 Grand Prix, while it is currently used for various motorsport events, including the races of the Superbike world championship.

Over the previous three rounds of the 600 championship, Kawasaki Puccetti Racing has scored three third place finishes with rider Lucas Mahias, while Hikari Okubo has had some difficulty with the set-up of his Kawasaki ZX-6R, which has prevented him from expressing his full potential. With only three rounds of the championship still to run, Mahias lies fourth in the general standings with 98 points, followed by Okubo in fifth position with 82.

Lucas Mahias: “This is my home race and I’m pleased to be able to ride in front of my public and all my friends who are coming to support me. In past years, I scored a third and a fourth place here, while in 2016 I won the Superstock 1000 race. I arrive here having scored three consecutive third-place finishes, but this time I will try to exploit my knowledge of the track and aim for the win”.

Hikari Okubo: “In recent races I haven’t been able to score the results I wanted and so i can’t wait to get on track at Magny Cours and get back to my usual level. Though I like the track, I’ve never achieved particularly strong results here and so this time I want to turn things around and aim for the podium, but we’ll need to start well in practice and quickly identify a good setting for my bike”.

Eight podiums in the last six rounds. Turkish Puccetti Racing rider Toprak Razgatlioglu is undoubtedly on a roll, now a fixed presence among the top riders in the Superbike championship, also thanks to the competitiveness of his bike, prepared by the technicians on Manuel Puccetti’s team. Last year, in his debut Superbike season, the young Turk scored points but this time he is looking to reach the podium and will be aiming particularly for the top step.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “I like the Magny-Cours track. There are some hard braking points and a chicane before the straight that are tough, but I enjoy it and am often able to gain on my rivals. The trend in terms of results has been positive, but I’m still missing a race win, which is my main goal this season. I hope to immediately find the right set-up in order to give it my all and achieve the best possible results”.
