C’è chi ha salvato l’house rinnovandola e chi professa, senza indugi, la grande tradizione della techno. C’è chi sta ereditando scettri pesanti come quello di “enfant prodige” dell’intelligent dance music e chi ne rappresenta il paradigma da almeno 10 anni, e poi panda inglesi, lupi newyorkesi e tigri apolidi. Nomi caldissimi del panorama internazionale e fieri artigiani ed esportatori del miglior beat made in Italy, e poi live, tanti live set, forse mai come prima al roBOt.
4 giorni di musica in 3 location differenti: Palazzo Re Enzo, epicentro della città medioevale e poi le 2 arterie principali, Tpo e Link, già culla dell’ultimo rinascimento musicale bolognese nei ’90, che allungano la linfa del festival fino alle prime luci del mattino.

Ma il roBOt non è solo musica è anche arte, grazie al bando call4roBOt che ha selezionato i nuovi talenti dell’era digitale attraverso il tema del “fare network”: 24 progetti artistici tra installazioni performance, mapping, live audio video. Il tutto a Palazzo Re Enzo, Ono gallery, Galleria Oltredimore, Museo della Musica, Libreria Stoppani ed Elastico.

Musica e arte digitale approdano sullo schermo con Screenings, la sezione cinema di roBOt 05. Dal lungometraggio Shut up and play the hits, sull’ultima esibizione degli LCD Soundsystem all’onirico Solipstist, di Andrew Thomas; da Arcana, dedicata a John Zorn a Vinylmania, tributo al disco in vinile; da Visualizing ISAM con il dietro le quinte dello show di Amon Tobin, all’ipnotico 8 Switches.

Il roBOt è anche workshop: i giovani relatori di HMCF presentano il Manifesto 2.0 dei network digitali; Giovanna Cosenza, esperta di comunicazione, presenta una riflessione sugli Apocalittici e gli integrati della rete, Giancarlo Lanza rivelerà i segreti di Ableton, Julia Draganović e Claudia Löffelholz terranno l’incontro sul Premio Internazionale di Arte Partecipativa e Damir Ivic, giornalista e scrittore, metterà finalmente a confronto blogger ed editori in ambito musicale.

There’s who saved house music by renewing and refreshing it and there’s who profess, without hesitation, the great tradition of techno. There are those who are inheriting pretty hefty titles such as “child prodigy” of intelligent dance music and there are those who have been the models for at least 10 years. Then we also have English pandas, New York wolves and stateless tigers. Really hot names on the international scene and proud craftsmen and exporters of the best beat made in Italy, oh and then of course live sets, probably the most Djs seen at roBOt festival yet.
4 days of music in three different locations: Palazzo Re Enzo, thebeating heart of the medieval city and then the two main arteries, TPO and Link, already home to the last Bolognese musical Renaissance of the ’90s, stretching the lifeblood of the festivalfrom dusk till dawn..
