Losail, 26 ottobre 2018. Il pilota del team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing Toprak Razgatlioglu ha chiuso la prima delle due gare in programma dell’ultimo round 2018 delCampionato Mondiale FIM Superbike sul circuito del Qatar in decima posizione, conquistando un’altra importante top ten nella sua stagione di debutto nella top class e risultando primo pilota privato in pista nella gara di oggi.

Scattato undicesimo in griglia, il pilota turco ha cercato di non perdere terreno nelle prime fasi della competizione, riuscendo a recuperare fino all’ottava posizione già al primo giro e rimanere protagonista della lotta per il settimo posto durante le primissime battute di gara.

Dal decimo giro in avanti però Toprak ha iniziato a non avere più le stesse condizioni per poter mantenere un ritmo costante come nelle fasi iniziali e, a pneumatici ormai consumati, il rookie della categoria è stato costretto a rallentare scivolando nelle retrovie.

Razgatlioglu chiude la sua primissima gara in carriera sotto i riflettori del Losail International Circuit in decima posizione, conquistando un’altra importante top ten e punti fondamentali per la classifica generale che lo vede attualmente occupare la nona posizione.

In gara 2 domani, il ventiduenne proverà a migliorare ancora la sua prestazione grazie all’esperienza acquisita oggi in sella alla Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR sul tracciato del Qatar.

L’ultimissima gara del mondiale Superbike per la stagione 2018 si disputerà alle ore 19:00 locali di domani (GMT +3.00).

WorldSBK – GARA 2 : Gara 2 Superbike cancellata in Qatar

Losail, 27 Ottobre 2018. L’ultima giornata di gare della stagione 2018 del Campionato Mondiale FIM Superbike è stata condizionata da una situazione meteo particolarmente avversa e inaspettata al circuito di Losail in Qatar.

Una tempesta di sabbia e poi un forte temporale abbattutosi poco dopo hanno messo a rischio fin da subito il regolare svolgimento del programma della giornata.

Tornato il sereno in tempo perché la pista iniziasse ad asciugarsi, sia il warm up della Supersport che della categoria Superbike si sono svolti in ritardo rispetto al normale orario.
Solo però dopo la gara della Supersport è stato chiaro che le condizioni del tracciato, ancora bagnato in alcuni punti, non fossero sufficienti ad assicurare la sicurezza dei piloti Superbike per la seconda prova prevista oggi. Per questo motivo, sentito il parere anche di alcuni piloti, gli organizzatori hanno deciso di cancellare Gara 2 Superbike, concludendo anzitempo la stagione 2018.

Per Toprak Razgatlioglu e il team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing si conclude prima del previsto un anno positivo, che ha visto il giovane talento turco ottenere ben due podi (un secondo posto a Donington Park in Gara 2 e un terzo posto in Gara 1 in Argentina) nel suo anno di debutto nella top class.
Grazie a una serie di risultati positivi, Toprak chiude la stagione 2018 del mondiale Superbike nella top ten della classifica generale al nono posto ed è secondo nella classifica piloti di team indipendenti.

Per Razgatlioglu non è però ancora giunto il momento di riposare, infatti concluso il fine settimana in Qatar, il ventiduenne volerà in Giappone per disputare anche il grand prix conclusivo del MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship a Suzuka dal 2 al 4 novembre 2018 e il martedì 6 novembre 2018 sarà invece presente alla Fiera Internazionale Ciclo e Motociclo – EICMA a Milano.

WorldSSP: Finale contrastante per i piloti del team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing
Losail, 27 ottobre 2018. L’ultimo round del Campionato Mondiale FIM Supersport sul circuito di Losail in Qatar ha avuto un epilogo contrastante per i piloti del team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing Hikari Okubo e Hector Barbera. Infatti, mentre per lo spagnolo la battaglia finale della stagione 2018 si è conclusa con il suo miglior risultato nelle 4 gare disputate nella categoria, per il giapponese invece la prova si è conclusa anzitempo a causa di una caduta nelle fasi iniziali.

Nel primo pomeriggio una tempesta di sabbia e un forte temporale avevano reso incerta la partenza della gara ma, dopo lunghi rinvii e con il migliorare delle condizioni climatiche e della pista, è stata infine disputata su una distanza ridotta di 12 giri.

Nonostante ancora bagnata in alcuni tratti, l’ultima battaglia dell’anno è scattata alle ore 18:45 con Hikari Okubo scattato deciso dalla 14esima casella in griglia, pronto a recuperare subito posizioni. Alla seconda curva del primo giro però un imprevisto conseguente alla forte partenza ha portato la catena della moto del giapponese a scendere dalla corona, costringendolo ad una manovra che lo ha portato alla caduta.

Il compagno di squadra Barbera, scattato decimo in griglia, ha saputo costruire una buona rimonta invece, chiudendo in settima posizione a soli 6.709 s dal vincitore e risultando anche miglior pilota Kawasaki in pista.

Il campionato si conclude con Okubo in 13esimo in classifica generale, mentre lo spagnolo, chiude 17esimo dopo aver disputato solamente le ultime quattro prove dell’anno.

WorldSBK – RACE 1: Top ten and first independent rider for Razgatlioglu in Race 1 at Losail

Losail, 26th October 2018. Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider Toprak Razgatliogluended the first of the two encounters of the final round of the 2018 FIM Superbike World Championship season at Losail International Circuit in Qatar in 10th position, conquering another top ten result in his rookie year in the top class and finishing the race as first independent rider on track.

As he got off the line from the 11th spot of the grid, the Turkish rider tried to stay with the group in the early stages of the race, managing to recover till 8th place already after one lap and becoming one of the contenders battling for 7th.

But starting from Lap 10 as the tyres started to drop their performance, Toprak couldn’t find the same feeling to keep pushing at the same rhythm and started to lose some ground and drop some positions.

Razgatlioglu ended his first ever race on the floodlit circuit of Qatar in 10th place, conquering another top ten result and important points for the general standings which currently see him ninth.

Tomorrow in Race 2, the twenty-two-year-old rider will try to improve his performance thanks to experience made today out on track on board his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR.

The last race of the WorldSBK championship for the 2018 season will be held tomorrow at 19:00 local time (GMT +3.00).

WorldSBK – RACE 2 : Race 2 Superbike cancelled in Qatar

Losail, 27th October 2018. Unexpected weather conditions at Losail International Circuit in Qatar affected the final day of races of the 2018 season of the FIM Superbike World Championship.

A sandstorm followed by heavy rain put racing at the final round on standby but as the weather improved and the track started to dry up, both WorldSSP and WorldSBK Warm-Up were held on a new schedule.
Only after the WorldSSP race was held it was clear that the track condition, still wet in some parts, was not good enough to ensure safety to the Superbike riders meant to race the second encounter of the weekend. After having spoken to some of them it was decided to definitely cancel the race.

For Toprak Razgatlioglu and the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team, a positive 2018 season ended earlier than expected. In his rookie year, the young Turkish rider was able to get twice on the podium, once in Race 2 at Donington Park where he finished second and then in the recently Argentinean round he came home third in Race 1.

Thanks to these and a series of top ten results through the season, Toprak ends his first season in WorldSBK into the top ten of the general standings in ninth position and he finishes second in the independent team classification.

For Razgatlioglu it is still not time to relax as after the Qatar Round he will now fly to Japan to take part to the final grand prix of the MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship at Suzuka from 2nd to 4th November 2018. He will then visit EICMA(Fiera Internazionale Ciclo e Motociclo) in Milan on 6th November 2018.

WorldSSP: Contrasting fortune for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team rider in season finale

Losail, 27th October 2018. The final round of the FIM Supersport World Championship at Losail International Circuit in Qatar had a contrasting fortune for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing riders Hikari Okubo and Hector Barbera. While the Spaniard was able to end his final battle of the season scoring his best result, on board the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R for the Japanese the race ended earlier as expected as he crashed out during the opening stages.

Due to a sandstorm and the heavy rain that fell early in the afternoon the start of the race was uncertain but after that the weather improved as well as the track condition, the encounter was finally held on a shortened distance of 12 laps.

With some sections still wet and covered with water, the final battle of the year started at 18:45 local time with Hikari Okubo ready to recover some positions just after the start. After having departed 14th on the grid, tt the second turn on lap 1, due to a technical problem that drove the chain to jump the sprockets, the Japanese fell.

His team-mate Barbera, 10th on the grid, made a strong come back as he finished 7th at only 6.709 seconds from the winner and ending the race as first Kawasaki rider on track.

The WorldSSP championship finishes with Okubo 13th overall in the standings, while the Spaniard who took part in the last four races of the year is 17th.
