Test molto positivi a Jerez per il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing
Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing ha brillantemente concluso due giornate di test sul circuito di Jerez de la Frontera in Spagna. Giovedì 28 e venerdì 29 novembre, la squadra di Manuel Puccetti ha portato in pista la Ninja Superbike di Xavi Fores e la ZX-6R di Phillip Ottl, che in precedenza aveva già svolto due giorni di test all’autodromo di Valencia il 25 ed il 26 scorsi.
A Jerez il sole e la pista asciutta hanno facilitato il lavoro dei piloti e dello staff tecnico del team, che hanno portato a termine tutto il programma di lavoro precedentemente concordato. Entrambi i piloti hanno potuto prendere confidenza con le rispettive moto e con il proprio staff tecnico. Senza curarsi troppo dei riscontri cronometrici, sia Fores, al debutto assoluto con la Kawasaki ZX-10R, che Ottl hanno fatto notevoli e costanti progressi, dichiarandosi soddisfatti del lavoro svolto sulla pista andalusa.
Il miglior giro di Xavi Fores è stato in 1’40”356, mentre il best lap di Ottl è stato di 1’42”729.
Questi di Jerez sono stati gli ultimi test del 2019. Il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing tornerà in pista nel mese di gennaio per altre sessioni di prove, in preparazione al primo round dei campionati mondiali Superbike e Supersport che si disputerà dal 28 febbraio al 1 marzo sulla pista di Phillip Island in Australia.
Xavi Fores: “Sono soddisfatto di quanto abbiamo fatto qui a Jerez. Ovviamente devo ancora lavorare molto assieme alla mia squadra per capire un poco di più la mia moto, e soprattutto per comprendere come poterne sfruttare tutte le potenzialità. E’ una moto completamente diversa da quelle che ho guidato negli ultimi anni, ma ogni volta che la utilizzo mi ci trovo meglio. Non ho avuto particolari problemi per quanto riguarda la parte elettronica che anzi già nel secondo giorno mi ha aiutato ad andare più forte. Ho cercato di sfruttare queste due giornate di test per adattarmi il più possibile alla moto, senza curarmi troppo dei tempi sul giro. Il feeling con la squadra è stato subito ottimo ed il bilancio di queste prove è senza dubbio molto positivo. Continueremo a lavorare così anche nei test che faremo a gennaio”.
Phillip Ottl: “La moto che ho utilizzato a Jerez è diversa rispetto a quella di Valencia, ed è senza dubbio più potente e più divertente da guidare. Nella prima giornata qui a Jerez abbiamo provato diversi tipi di assetto. Anche se è stata solo la seconda volta che le ho utilizzate, non ho avuto particolari problemi con le gomme Pirelli ed abbiamo provato sia quelle intagliate che le nuove slick, che hanno un ottimo grip. Mi trovo molto bene con il mio team, che conosce ogni segreto di questa moto, e che mi sta aiutando molto ad imparare a sfruttarne tutto il potenziale. Sono stati due giorni molto positivi e penso che dovremo continuare a lavorare così anche nei test di gennaio, per poter affrontare nel migliore dei modi l’inizio del campionato”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “Due giorni estremamente positivi. Abbiamo fatto lo shakedown con Fores in Superbike, mentre per quanto riguarda Ottl dopo una prima presa di contatto a Valencia, con una moto da allenamento, qui ha provato la moto da gara ed ha lavorato molto con la sua squadra, facendo segnare dei tempi che sono andati oltre le nostre aspettative, anche se non abbiamo mai puntato al tempo sul giro, con nessuno dei nostri piloti. Grazie alla collaborazione con Orelac gestiremo la stagione del debutto in Supersport di Can Oncu, per aiutarlo a crescere e a mostrare tutto il suo talento. Ora ci attende la pausa invernale, ma subito dopo torneremo in pista a Portimao il 26 e 27 gennaio, con le moto 2020”.

Very positive Jerez test for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing
Kawasaki Puccetti Racing has concluded the two-day test session at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain in a very positive fashion. Manuel Puccetti’s team were on track on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 November with Xavi Forés on the Ninja Superbike and the ZX-6R of Phillip Ottl, the latter having already completed a two-day session at Valencia on 25-26 November.
Sunny conditions and a dry track facilitated the work of the riders and technical staff at Jerez, the team able to complete their planned work schedule. Both riders were able to build confidence with their respective bikes and technical staff. Without paying too much attention to lap times, both Forés, who is making his debut with the Kawasaki ZX-10R, and Ottl made significant and consistent progress, declaring themselves pleased with the work carried out at the Andalusian track.
Xavi Forés’ fastest lap time was a 1’40”356, while Ottl set a best of 1’42”729.
This Jerez test is the last of 2019. Kawasaki Puccetti Racing will return to the track in January for additional test sessions in preparation for round 1 of the Superbike and Supersport championship which will take place over the weekend of 28 February to 1 March at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia.
Xavi Fores: “I’m pleased with what we’ve done here at Jerez. I still have a lot of work to do with my team in order to better understand the bike and how to use it to its full potential of course. It’s a very different bike to those I’ve ridden in recent years, but I’m getting on better with every exit I make. I haven’t had any particular problems with the electronics, in fact they helped be go faster on day two. I tried to make the most of the two days to adapt as far as possible to the bike, without focusing too much on lap times. I immediately had good feeling with the team and overall, I can say we’ve had a very positive test here. We’ll continue to work in this way during the January tests”.
Phillip Ottl: “The bike I’ve used here at Jerez is different to what I rode at Valencia; it’s definitely more powerful and enjoyable to ride. On day one we tested various set-ups. It’s only my second outing with the bike but I haven’t had any real issues with the Pirelli tyres and we’ve tested both the cut and new slick solutions, which offer excellent grip. I’m getting on very well with the team. The guys know everything there is to know about the bike and so they’re helping me to unleash its potential. Two positive days, and I think we need to continue in this way when we test in January, so that we can start the championship in the best possible way”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “Two extremely positive days. We carried out a shakedown with Forés in Superbike, while Ottl, who had already been out on a training bike at Valencia, was able to ride the race bike here and work hard with his time, setting some times that exceeded our expectations, despite that not being our main focus with either rider here. Thanks to our collaboration with Orelac, we’ll be managing Can Öncü’s rookie season in Supersport, to help him grow and show his full potential. Now we head into the winter break, but we’ll be back soon with the 2020 bikes for the Portimao test on 26-27 January”.
