Il Turkish Puccetti Racing a Laguna Seca per restare al vertice

Dopo i due secondi posti podi conquistati a Donington Park il Turkish Puccetti Racing ed il suo pilota Toprak Razgatlioglu si spostano ora negli Stati Uniti d’America e più precisamente sul circuito WeatherTech Raceway di Laguna Seca in California.
La pista americana si trova a 250 m sul livello del mare, a circa 12 km da Monterey ed ha una lunghezza totale di 3.610 metri. L’autodromo è stato costruito nel 1957 e si snoda attorno ad una collina. Dal fondo della valle il tracciato sale verso la cima della collina, per poi ridiscendere bruscamente, ad iniziare dalla famosa curva denominata del “cavatappi”, spettacolare chicane in discesa. L’impianto è stato oggetto di importanti lavori nel 2005 e nel 2006, quando sono stati incrementati gli spazi delle vie di fuga per aumentare la sicurezza della pista.
E’ la seconda volta che Razgatlioglu corre a Laguna, dove ha debuttato lo scorso anno. Fu un debutto sfortunato. Dopo il terzo posto nella Superpole1, il giovane pilota turco fu vittima di un brutto high side proprio alla curva del cavatappi. Una caduta senza gravi conseguenze, ma che gli impedì di partire in gara2.
Toprak arriva in America dopo aver conquistato cinque podi negli ultimi quattro round. E’ sesto nella classifica del campionato con 153 punti e primo nella speciale classifica dei piloti privati (Indipendent Riders) con 29 punti di vantaggio su Melandri, secondo.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Sono contento di correre a Laguna Seca, una pista molto particolare ed affascinante. I tifosi americani sono cordiali ed animati da un grande spirito sportivo. Lo scorso anno in gara1 fui vittima di un high side davvero spaventoso, alla curva del cavatappi, e solo per fortuna non mi feci nulla di grave. Ero al mio primo anno in Superbike ed era la mia prima volta su di una pista non certo facile da interpretare. Quest’anno la situazione è diversa. Negli ultimi quattro round abbiamo dimostrato di poter stare costantemente nelle posizioni di vertice e quindi anche a Laguna correrò per conquistare la mia prima vittoria in Superbike”.

Turkish Puccetti Racing at Laguna Seca to aim for the top again

After two second place podiums scored at Donington Park, Turkish Puccetti Racing and its rider Toprak Razgatlioglu now move on to the United States and, more specifically, the WeatherTech Raceway track of Laguna Seca in California.
The American track lies 250 m above sea level, roughly 12 km from Monterey, and has a total length of 3610 metres. The circuit was built in 1957 and is constructed around a hill. From the bottom of the valley, the track rises towards the top of the hill, before descending suddenly, starting with the famous turn known as the Corkscrew, a spectacular downhill chicane. Important work was carried out at the circuit in 2005 and 2006, with the run-off areas increased to heighten track safety.
This is the second time Razgatlioglu is racing at Laguna, where he made his debut last year. It was an unlucky debut. After scoring third place in Superpole1, the young Turk suffered a serious highside through the Corkscrew. A crash without any serious consequences, but that prevented him from racing in race 2.
Toprak arrives in America after having scored five podiums in the last four rounds. He lies sixth in the championship standings with 153 points and first in the special classification for independent riders with a 29-point advantage over Melandri, second.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “I’m pleased to race at Laguna Seca, a very unique and exciting track. The American fans are friendly and really into the racing. Last year I had a really scary highside in race 1, at the corkscrew, and I was lucky not to hurt myself. That was my first year in Superbike and my first time at a tough track. This year the situation is different. In the last four rounds we’ve proved to be consistently near the top and so at Laguna too I will race to try and score my first Superbike win”.
