Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu sul podio del World SBK a Imola!
Il Turkish Puccetti Racing ha disputato oggi all’autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola la Superpole e la prima gara, valide per il quinto round del campionato mondiale Superbike. Ieri Toprak Razgatlioglu era stato autore di una prestazione maiuscola, concludendo le due sessioni di prove libere al quinto posto, con il tempo di 1’47”124.
Questa mattina in una giornata nuvolosa, il giovane pilota turco ha disputato il terzo ed ultimo turno di libere. Non ha migliorato il suo tempo di ieri, ma ha comunque concluso al sesto posto.
In una Superpole interrotta per due volte dalla bandiera rossa, a causa di rotture e cadute, purtroppo Toprak ha solo leggermente migliorato il suo tempo sul giro (1’47”169) ed ha concluso in undicesima posizione. A seguito di questo risultato ha preso il via dalla quarta fila nella gara del pomeriggio, che si è disputata sulla distanza di 19 giri.
Razgatlioglu è scattato bene al via ed ha concluso il primo giro al settimo posto. Nei giri seguenti Toprak incrementava il proprio ritmo e recuperava posizioni, sino a portarsi nel gruppetto in lotta per la terza posizione del podio, composto da quattro piloti. Il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing li superava uno ad uno e nel corso del decimo passaggio conquistava la terza posizione. Nei giri finali Van der Mark, pilota ufficiale Yamaha, cercava di superarlo ma Razgatlioglu ribatteva colpo su colpo ed andava a conquistare il suo primo podio del 2019.
Domani Razgatlioglu disputerà la Tissot Superpole Race di soli 10 giri e a seguire gara2, che come oggi avrà la durata di 19 giri.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Sono davvero molto contento oggi. Il mio obiettivo in questa stagione è quello di salire sul podio, ma sino ad ora non è stato possibile. In Superpole con la gomma da tempo la moto non era stabile e non mi dava lo stesso feeling delle prove e per questo ho dovuto partire dall’undicesima posizione. Avevo paura che la mia posizione di partenza potesse compromettere la gara, ma sono partito bene ed ho visto subito che la moto aveva un setting perfetto. Ho spinto forte e ho raggiunto i piloti in lotta per il podio. Nel finale ho fatto molta fatica a resistere agli attacchi di Van der Mark, ma volevo fortemente questo podio per me e per il mio team che lavora sempre molto per me”.

In action today at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari track in Imola, Turkish Puccetti Racing took part in the Superpole and first SBK race making up the fifth round of the Superbike World Championship. Yesterday, Toprak Razgatlioglu put in an impressive performance, concluding the two practice sessions in fifth place, with a time of 1’47”124.
This morning, in cloudy conditions, the young Turkish rider completed the third and final free practice. He didn’t improve on yesterday’s time but nevertheless finished in sixth place.
In a Superpole that was interrupted by two red flags, due to crashes and technical issues, Toprak was unfortunately only able to improve slightly on his best time (1’47”169), thus closing in eleventh place. He therefore started from the fourth row of the grid in the afternoon’s 19-lap race.
Razgatlioglu got away well and was already up to seventh place by the end of the first lap. Over the subsequent laps, Toprak picked up his pace and continued to make up places, soon reaching the leading group and starting to battle for third place along with three other riders. One at a time, the Turkish Puccetti Racing rider was able to pass them, moving into third place during the course of lap ten. In the final stages, factory Yamaha rider Van der Mark tried to attack but Razgatlioglu defended himself well to score his first podium result of the 2019 season so far.
Tomorrow Razgatlioglu will take part in the 10-lap Tissot Superpole Race followed by race 2, which will run over 19 laps like today’s race.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “I’m really pleased today. My goals this season is to reach the podium but it hasn’t been possible until now. In Superpole, with the qualifying tyre, the bike wasn’t stable and didn’t give me the same feeling I had in practice and that’s why I ended up starting from eleventh on the grid. I was worried that my position might compromise my race, but I got away well and immediately realised that the bike had a perfect setting. I pushed hard and reached the group of riders battling for the podium. In the final stages, I really struggled to hold off Van der Mark, but I really wanted this podium, for me and for my team that works so hard for me”.
