Turkish Puccetti Racing – Uno stoico Razgatlioglu chiude al nono posto le due gare WorldSBK di Assen
Si sono disputate oggi al TT Circuit di Assen in Olanda le gare valide per il quarto round del campionato mondiale Superbike. Nella giornata di ieri Toprak Razgatlioglu, il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing, era caduto nel corso della Superpole, riportando varie e profonde contusioni ed un leggero trauma cranico, che aveva indotto i medici a tenerlo un giorno a riposo e ad impedirgli di prendere il via nella prima gara del weekend, che poi non si è comunque disputata a causa del maltempo, con pioggia e neve.
Questa mattina il giovane pilota turco è stato considerato idoneo a scendere in pista ed ha disputato il warm up nel quale ha apportato gli ultimi ritocchi al set up della sua Ninja ZX-10R. In seguito a quanto avvenuto ieri, il programma è stato modificato. La Tissot Superpole Race è stata annullata ed oggi i piloti hanno disputato due gare di 21 giri cadauna, nelle quali Toprak ha preso il via dalla quarta fila, grazie al decimo posto ottenuto in Superpole, prima della caduta.
In gara1 Razgatlioglu è partito velocissimo allo spegnersi del semaforo e si è portato al settimo posto. Ha mantenuto questa posizione sino al quinto giro, quando lottando nel gruppo degli inseguitori è sceso al nono posto e nonostante il dolore si facesse sentire, lo ha mantenuto sino al traguardo.
La seconda gara è stata molto simile alla prima per il giovane pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing. La sua partenza è stata ancora una volta molto buona e lo ha portato all’ottavo posto. Dopo sette giri, anche a causa del dolore causato dalle ferite riportate nella caduta di ieri, Toprak ha perso una posizione per poi concludere ancora in nona posizione, primo dei piloti privati.
Due grandi risultati per lo stoico Razgatlioglu, che ha saputo vincere il dolore e concludere per due volte nella top ten, dopo due gare di 21 giri ciascuna, a poche ore di distanza l’una dall’altra.
Dopo quattro round, nella classifica del campionato Toprak occupa l’undicesima posizione con 46 punti.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il campionato mondiale Superbike è previsto nel weekend del 10-12 maggio all’autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola in Italia

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Questa mattina mi sono svegliato con molto dolore in varie parti del corpo. Ciò nonostante nel warm up ho provato a salire in moto ed ho visto che riuscivo a guidare, anche se non proprio come avrei voluto. I miei risultati non sono quelli che speravo di ottenere quando siamo arrivati qui ad Assen, ma dopo la rovinosa caduta di ieri non credo che oggi si potesse fare di più. Spero di riprendermi in fretta e di poter arrivare a Imola in buone condizioni per lottare per la top five che resta il mio obiettivo in questa stagione. Ringrazio la mia squadra che mi ha aiuto molto in questo fine settimana”.

Turkish Puccetti Racing – A stoic Razgatlioglu closes the two WorldSBK races at Assen in ninth place
The Assen TT Circuit in The Netherlands today hosted the races making up round four of the Superbike world championship. During yesterday, Turkish Puccetti Racing rider Toprak Razgatlioglu crashed during the course of the Superpole, suffering some serious cuts and bruises and a slight cranial trauma as a result, which meant doctors decided he was unfit to take part in race one. The first race then didn’t take place due to bad weather, a combination of rain and snow.
This morning, the young Turskih rider was considered fit to compete and took part in warm-up, making some final adjustments to his Ninja ZX-10R. The day’s racing was rescheduled as a result of what happened yesterday, the Tissot Superpole Race cancelled and riders taking part in two 21-lap races, in which Toprak lined up on the fourth row of the grid thanks to his tenth-place finish in Superpole.
In race 1, Razgatlioglu made a very quick start when the light went out, immediately positioning seventh. He maintained that position until lap five, when he fell back to ninth while battling as part of the chasing group. Despite being in some pain, he was able to hold ninth position all the way to the line.
The second race went in a similar way to the first for the young Turkish Puccetti Racing rider. He once again made a solid start and was lynig eighth. After seven laps, again due to the pain of the injuries sustained yesterday, Toprak lost one position and crossed the line in ninth place, first among the privateer riders.
Two strong results for a stoic Razgatlioglu, who overcame the pain to secure two top ten finishes in two 21-lap races that took place just a few hours apart from each other.
After four rounds, Toprak lies eleventh in the overall standings with 46 points.
The next round of the Superbike world championship is set to take place over the weekend of 10-12 May at the Imola Enzo e Dino Ferrari racetrack in Italy.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “This morning I woke up in quite a lot of pain. Despite that, I tried to ride in warm-up and was able to do so, though not exactly as I would have like. My results are not what I hoped to achieve when we arrived at Assen, but after yesteday’s crash I don’t think I could have done more. I hope to recover quickly and then race at Imola in top shape, fighting for the top five which is still my goal for this season. Thanks to my team for all their help this weekend.”
