Razgatlioglu vince gara1 WorldSBK a Magny-Cours!
Se ieri la pioggia era stata la protagonista di entrambe le sessioni di prove libere dell’undicesimo round del campionato mondiale che si disputa sul circuito Nevers Magny-Cours in Francia, oggi il meteo ha reso ancora più complicato lo svolgimento delle prove e della Superpole, mentre non ha fatto la sua comparsa per la prima gara del weekend.
Il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing, Toprak Razgatlioglu, ieri aveva concluso le prove libere in ottava posizione. Questa mattina la pista si presentava asciutta per il terzo ed ultimo turno di libere ed il giovane pilota turco è stato autore di una grande prova, che gli ha permesso di concludere la sessione al primo posto, con il tempo di 1’38”777.
Prima della Superpole però la pioggia è tornata a bagnare il tracciato francese e quindi la sessione di qualifica si è disputata su di una pista completamente bagnata. Purtroppo Toprak non è riuscito a trovare un buon feeling con la sua moto e pur impegnandosi al massimo non è riuscito a fare meglio del sedicesimo tempo (1’57”091).
Questo risultato lo ha quindi costretto a prendere il via dalla sesta fila nella prima gara che si è disputata in tarda mattinata e sulla distanza di 21 giri.
Il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing è stato autore di una gara memorabile. Scattato come un fulmine dalla sesta fila, al termine del primo giro Toprak era già settimo e al terzo passaggio si portava in terza posizione, in piena lotta per la vittoria. Con una guida determinata e coraggiosa, ma senza mai commettere errori, Razgatlioglu lottava come un leone sino all’ultimo giro, quando recuperava lo svantaggio che aveva nei confronti di Rea e lo superava, tagliando per primo il traguardo!
Oggi Toprak Razgatlioglu entra nella storia del motociclismo, quale primo pilota turco ad aver vinto una gara del campionato mondiale Superbike. Anche per il team di Manuel Puccetti si tratta della prima vittoria nella classe maggiore, dopo i molti successi ottenuti nella classe Supersport.
Nella classifica del campionato Toprak occupa ora la quarta posizione con 248 punti, a soli 11 punti dalla terza posizione, e mantenendo il comando della speciale classifica degli “Independent Riders” con 87 punti di vantaggio sul pilota che segue.
Domani mattina disputerà la Tissot Superpole Race di soli 10 giri e nel pomeriggio tornerà in pista per gara2.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Sul bagnato non avevo feeling con la mia moto ed i risultati sono stati pessimi, tanto che ho preso il via dalla penultima fila. Sull’asciutto sono andato sempre bene, ma sino a quattro giri dalla fine pensavo di poter solo salire sul podio, non pensavo di poter vincere. Poi ho visto che Van der Mark era caduto e che riuscivo a recuperare terreno su Rea ed allora ho spinto al massimo ed ho dato tutto, riuscendo a tagliare per primo il traguardo. Per domani non so cosa ci aspetta, ma se sarà asciutto proverò ancora a vincere. Ho realizzato un obiettivo che inseguivo con la mia squadra sin dall’inizio del campionato. Sapevamo di avere il potenziale per vincere e ce l’abbiamo fatta. Voglio ringraziare tutti quelli che hanno creduto in me e i ragazzi del mio team che anche oggi hanno fatto un lavoro eccezionale”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal : “Toprak ha fatto una gara incredibile. La sua partenza è stata velocissima e gli ha permesso di portarsi subito nel gruppo di testa. Abbiamo avuto paura solo quando è stato urtato da Davies, che è venuto nel nostro box per scusarsi perché ha avuto un problema di elettronica, ma per fortuna è andata bene. All’inizio dell’ultimo giro non pensavamo che potesse farcela, invece Toprak ci ha creduto sino alla fine e ha conquistato una vittoria che ci ripaga di tutto il lavoro che abbiamo fatto in questa stagione. E’ il coronamento di un sogno, di oltre 20 anni di attività agonistica., il giusto premio per un grande gruppo di lavoro che si è integrato benissimo con il giovane pilota turco”.
Razgatlioglu vince la Tissot Superpole Race a Magny Cours!
Archiviata la fantastica vittoria del Turkish Puccetti Racing e di Toprak Razgatlioglu nella prima gara dell’undicesimo round del campionato mondiale Superbike che si disputa questo weekend all’autodromo Nevers Magny-Cours in Francia, per il pilota turco e per la squadra di Manuel Puccetti è già tempo di tornare in pista per disputare la Tissot Superpole race, la gara sprint che si disputa sulla distanza di soli 10 giri.
In seguito al risultato della Superpole, corsa su pista bagnata, anche oggi Toprak ha preso il via dalla sedicesima casella, in sesta fila, in una giornata fresca e soleggiata.
La sua partenze è stata fulminea e gli ha permesso di transitare in ottava posizione al termine del primo giro. Nel secondo giro Toprak faceva segnare il nuovo record della pista francese (1’37”018) e si portava al terzo posto, subito alle spalle di Rea e Van der Mark. I tre prendevano un leggero vantaggio sugli inseguitori ed era chiaro che il vincitore sarebbe stato uno di loro. A metà gara Razgatlioglu superava l’olandese e si incollava alla ruota posteriore di Rea, per poi superarlo nel corso del sesto giro. Una volta in testa il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing spingeva al massimo la sua Ninja ed andava a vincere la sua seconda gara consecutiva, nonostante un disperato tentativo di Rea di superarlo a poche curve dal traguardo.
Avendo vinto la Tissot Superpole race, Toprak ha preso il via dalla pole position nella terza ed ultima gara di questo round francese.
Purtroppo questa seconda gara è stata molto sfortunata per il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing. Pur essendo scattato bene al via, Razgatlioglu transitava al primo giro in quarta posizione, nel gruppo di testa. Al secondo giro però in una curva Toprak perdeva aderenza all’anteriore, era costretto a rallentare e a rialzare la moto e veniva colpito dall’incolpevole Bautista, che lo seguiva. Entrambi i piloti cadevano senza poter riprendere la gara.
L’esito sfortunato di gara2 non toglie nulla ad un weekend storico per il team di Manuel Puccetti, che si è aggiudicato ben 3 delle quattro gare disputate a Magny Cours (due in Superbike ed una in Supersport).
Nella classifica del campionato Razgatlioglu è quinto con 260 punti. Nella speciale classifica degli “Indipendent Riders” mantiene la prima posizione con 89 punti di vantaggio sul secondo.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il campionato mondiale Superbike è fissato per il weekend del 11, 12 e 13 ottobre sul circuito San Juan Villicum in Argentina.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Questa mattina nel warm up abbiamo apportato una modifica alla moto che però non mi ha soddisfatto, e quindi siamo tornati all’assetto di ieri, che si è rivelato perfetto. Nella Superpole race sono partito subito forte per recuperare posizioni, visto che partivo dalla sedicesima casella della griglia. Sono sempre riuscito a tenere un ritmo velocissimo, tanto da far segnare il nuovo record della pista. Quando ho visto che ero più veloce di Rea l’ho superato, resistendo poi al suo attacco nel giro finale. Una vittoria fantastica! In gara due purtroppo una sbandata ha rovinato tutto. Per fortuna che non mi sono fatto nulla. Sono molto felice di aver ottenuto le mie prime due vittorie in Superbike e ringrazio la mia squadra e tutti quelli che hanno sempre creduto in me. Cercherò di vincere qualche altra gara nei due round che mancano alla fine del campionato”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “E’ stato un fine settimana storico per la nostra squadra. Vincere per la prima volta due gare del mondiale Superbike è stato una cosa fantastica, anche perché lo abbiamo fatto con Toprak, un pilota che abbiamo fatto debuttare nel mondiale solo lo scorso anno. A tutto questo si è aggiunta la vittoria di Mahias nella gara del mondiale Supersport. Anche questa è una vittoria carica di significati che ci fa provare una gioia particolare, viste le difficoltà che abbiamo incontrato all’inizio della stagione. A memorable weekend at Magny-Cours for Manuel Puccetti’s team
Razgatlioglu wins WorldSBK Race 1 at Magny-Cours!
While the rain characterised both of yesterday’s practice sessions making up this eleventh round of the championship playing out at the Nevers Magny-Cours track in France, today the weather made the final practice and Superpole even more complication, while the first race of the weekend ran in dry conditions.
Turkish Puccetti Racing rider Toprak Razgatlioglu closed yesterday’s practices in eighth place. This morning, the track was dry for the third and final practice and the young Turk put in a strong performance, closing the session at the head of the pack with a time of 1’38”777.
Rain returned prior to the Superpole though, making for a fully wet track for the all-important qualifying sessions. Unfortunately, Toprak didn’t find good feeling with his bike and despite giving it his all, he couldn’t do better than sixteenth (1’57”091).
This result saw him line up on row six of the grid, which took place in the early afternoon over a distance of 21 laps.
The Turkish Puccetti Racing rider ran a memorable race. Having got away like a rocket from row six, Toprak was already up into seventh place by the end of lap one, and third by lap three, in the mix for the win. With couragious and determined riding, but without making mistakes, Razgatlioglu battled like a lion all the way to the end, closing the gap to Rea and overtaking up just before the line, to win the race!
Today Toprak Razgatlioglu goes down in motorcycle history as the first Turkish rider to ever win a Superbike world championship race. This also marks a first win in the category for Manuel Puccetti’s team, after a string of successes in the Supersport class.
In the championship standings, Toprak now lies fourth with 248 points, just 11 points from third place. He retains his lead in the special “Independent Riders” standings, with an 87-point lead over his closest rival.
Tomorrow morning the 10-lap Tissot Superpole Race will be followed by race 2.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “I didn’t have the right feeling with my bike in the wet and results were bad, meaning I had to start from the back row. In the day, I was going well but up until four laps from the end I was only thinking about reaching the podium, not winning. Then I saw that Van der Mark had crashed and that I was able to make up ground to Rea and so I started to push and gave it my all, managing to cross the line first. For tomorrow, I don’t know what to expect, but if it’s dry, I’ll try to win again. I have achieved a goal that the team and I had been chasing all season. I want to thank everyone who has believed in me and my whole team as they have all done an exceptional job today”.
Manuel Puccetti: “Toprak ran an incredible race. He made a fantastic start and that allowed him to move straight up into the leading group. We were only worried when he was hit by Davies, who came to our garage to apologise because he had an electronics issue, but luckily everything was ok. At the start of the final lap, we didn’t think he could do it, yet Toprak believed in us and scored a victory that repays all the work we’ve done this season. It’s the culmination of a dream, of more than 20 years of racing activity, the perfect prize for a great work group that integrates so well with the young Turkish rider.”
Razgatlioglu wins the Tissot Superpole Race at Magny Cours!
Having won the first race making up this eleventh round of the Superbike world championship at the French circuit of Nevers Magny-Cours, Turkish Puccetti Racing and Toprak Razgatlioglu were back on track for this morning’s Tissot Superpole race, a sprint race running over just 10 laps.
Following yesterday’s Superpole, which took place in the wet, Toprak once again lined up in sixteenth place on the grid, conditions cool but sunny today.
He made another excellent start that put him into eighth place by the end of lap one. On lap two Toprak set a new track record (1’37”018) and moved into third place, right behind Rea and Van der Mark. The trio had a slight lead over the chasing pack, and it was clear that one of them would go on to win. Mid-race, Razgatlioglu passed the Dutchman and was right on Rea’s rear wheel, before overtaking him too come lap six. Once out front, the Turkish Puccetti Racing rider pushed his Ninja to the max, winning his second consecutive race despite Rea’s desperate attempts to pass him a few corners from the line.
Having won the Tissot Superpole race, Toprak took pole position for the weekend’s third and final Superbike race.
Unfortunately, this second race of the day proved unlucky for the Turkish Puccetti Racing rider. Despite having made a good start, Razgatlioglu was lying fourth by the end of lap one. On lap two though, Toprak lost grip at the front and was forced to slow and pick up the bike, at which point he was hit by Bautista, who was following. Both crashed and were unable to continue the race.
The unfortunate outcome of race 2 takes nothing away from what has been an historic weekend for Manuel Puccetti’s team, which has won three out of four races held at Magny-Cours (two Superbike and one Supersport).

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “In this morning’s warm-up we made a change to the bike but I wasn’t happy with it and so we went back to yesterday’s set-up, which proved to be perfect. In the Superpole race I got away fast and quickly made up positions, seeing as I was starting from sixteenth. I was able to maintain a strong pace and even set a new lap record. When I saw that I was faster than Rea, I passed him, defending myself against him on the final lap. A fantastic win! In race 2, a wobble ruined it all. Luckily I didn’t hurt myself. I’m really happy to have scored my first two wins in Superbike and thank my team and everyone who has believed in me. I will try to win again in the remaining two rounds of the championship”.
