BIO ARTIFACTS:
the Artifacts sono una crew nata a Newark , New Jersey composta da El Da Sensei, Tame One and DJ Kaos.
La musica di The Artifacts rende omaggio ai quattro elementi dell’hip hop.
L’esempio lampante è il loro singolo più famoso “Wrong Side of Da Tracks” che rende omaggio alla graffiti art, dato il loro trascorso da writers.
The Artifacs rilasciarono il primo album Between a Rock and a Hard Place nel 1994 e ricevette dalla critica feedback positivi per le loro liriche e contenuti.L’album fu impreziosito dai beats di Buckwild (DITC) e T-Ray (Soul Assasin).
Il loro secondo album That’s Them fu rilasciato nell’aprile 1997 ma non ottenne il successo del primo album, così il gruppo si sciolse e Tame One e El Da Sensei rilasciarono musica come artisti singoli.
Tame one in Definitive Jux dove si uni al collettivo Weatherman (Cage Kennylz, Camu Tao, Aesop Rock, El-P) e rilasciò l’album “Waterworld” insieme a Cage con il nome di Leaks Bros.
El Da Sensei rilascio innumerevoli progetti solisti tra cui spiccano “The unusual” (2006), e i vari progetti con i polacchi The Returners.
La reunion avvenne a Newark nel 2009 all’anniversario della Rock Steady Crew dove The Artifacts si riunirono per eseguire acumi pezzi durante lo show di El Da Sensei.
