A positive test for the Turkish Puccetti Racing team at Phillip Island
Ahead of the coming weekend’s opening World Superbike round, teams have today completed an official two-day test at the Phillip Island track in Australia.
Warm weather and a dry track facilitated the work of rider Toprak Razgatlioglu and his technical staff during the sessions, the squad focusing on the new 2019 engine and on some new suspension solutions. The young Turkish rider, alongside his new crew chief Phillip Marron, is working to modify his riding style in order to get the most out of his Ninja ZX-10RR.
At the end of yesterday morning’s session, Razgatlioglu was lying in tenth place with a time of 1’32”425. During the afternoon, he was able to improve (1’32”050), retaining tenth place in the day’s combined standings.
This morning, Toprak and his team were back on track to resume the setup work on the Kawasaki ZX-10RR. The first session saw the rider lower his time once again to set a 1’31”445.
The second and final session confirmed both the Turkish Puccetti Racing team’s hard work and the rider’s talent, with Toprak setting a fastest time of 1’30”840 (0.08 of a second under the record set in last year’s race) to secure sixth place in the final classification.
The Turkish Puccetti Racing team will be back on track at Phillip Island on Friday morning for the first practice sessions of the Superbike World Championship season opener.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Yesterday was not easy. We worked hard but I didn’t feel comfortable on the bike. Today went a lot better. I was quick both in terms of race pace and the flying lap. I like the new engine and the new suspension solutions allowed me to find good feeling with my bike. I like the track despite the fact it doesn’t really suit my riding style. We’ve tried different tyres too, but I don’t yet know which will be right for the race, we’ll see on Friday. Thanks to the team for all their support over the last two days”.
