“E’ stato un round positivo. In Superbike in gara2 Fores ha disputato la sua miglior gara della stagione, lottando nel secondo gruppo, contro piloti ufficiali e riuscendo anche a stargli davanti. Una gara ad alto livello che aspettavamo da inizio stagione e che ci conferma la validità del lavoro che sia il nostro pilota che la nostra squadra stanno svolgendo. In Supersport ieri Oettl ha conquistato il suo secondo podio, il nostro quarto stagionale, mentre oggi i nostri piloti hanno sofferto per la carenza di potenza dei nostri motori. La Superpole di ieri che ha consentito ad entrambi i nostri piloti di partire in gara dalla prima fila, ed il podio di Phillip sono state le note positive, mentre in gara2 non si poteva fare più di quanto abbiamo fatto, considerando che comunque Mahias ha lottato per il podio sino alle battute finali”.

Oettl conquista il podio al Motorland Aragon!
Si sono disputate oggi al Motorland Aragon la Superpole e la prima gara del quarto round del Campionato Mondiale Supersport. Ieri Phillip Oettl (1’55”520) e Lucas Mahias (1’56”153) i due piloti del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, avevano disputato le prime due sessioni di prove libere, concluse rispettivamente al quinto ed all’ottavo posto.
Nel terzo ed ultimo turno di libere di questa mattina entrambi sono riusciti a migliorarsi in modo significativo. Oettl (1’54”339) ha concluso al terzo posto, mentre Mahias (1’55”071) al quinto.
Nella quarta Superpole del WorldSS 2020 che si è disputata nella tarda mattinata, ottime prestazioni dei due piloti di Manuel Puccetti che hanno conquistato la prima fila nelle due gare che si disputeranno oggi e domani sulla pista andalusa. Oettl ha fermato i cronometri sul tempo di 1’53”521 ed ha concluso al secondo posto, proprio davanti a Mahias autore di un giro in 1’53”850.
Nella gara che si è disputata nel pomeriggio sulla distanza di 15 giri i due piloti del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing sono partiti molto bene allo spegnersi del semaforo, con Mahias che si è portato al comando della gara, seguito da vicino da Oettl. Nei giri successivi entrambi restavano nel gruppo di testa, composto da sei piloti. All’inizio del quarto giro purtroppo Mahias veniva a contatto con un altro pilota, doveva uscire di pista e perdeva quindi molto terreno, mentre Oettl transitava in terza posizione. Il pilota tedesco manteneva il terzo posto sino alla bandiera a scacchi, ed andava così a conquistare il suo secondo podio stagionale, mentre Mahias concludeva la gara al quinto posto.
Nella classifica del campionato Mahias è terzo con 73 punti, seguito da Oettl con 65.
Domani i due piloti del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing disputeranno, sempre al Motorland Aragon, la settima gara del campionato mondiale Supersport 2020.

“E’ stata una gara difficile e non capisco perché nei primi giri Vinales mi ha fatto perdere il gruppo di testa. In seguito è stato impossibile recuperare il terreno perduto, ma questo è lo stile di corsa dei piloti della Supersport, che spingono al limite nei primi giri e che poi ti fanno perdere la possibilità di restare in contatto con il gruppo di testa a causa dei continui tentativi di sorpasso. Rischiare così tanto ad inizio gara è una cosa completamente stupida. Ma guardiamo avanti e pensiamo alle prossime tre gare che disputeremo ancora su questa pista”.

“La squadra ha fatto un ottimo lavoro perché ieri ho fatto un po fatica con l’anteriore, ma forse anche perché era molto più caldo di oggi. Da questa mattina ho trovato un ritmo molto veloce ed anche nelle qualifiche abbiamo svolto un lavoro eccellente. Sono molto contento di aver conquistato il podio in questa gara. Ho visto che Lucas e Vinales si sono ostacolati alla prima curva e sono riuscito a prendere un buon margine di vantaggio. A quel punto ho pensato di mantenere un ritmo il più elevato possibile, non solo per incrementare il mio vantaggio, ma anche nella speranza di avvicinarmi ai primi due. Poi ho visto Locatelli superare Cluzel ed ho capito che quella era la sua mossa vincente. Ho cercato sino alla fine di raggiungere Cluzel, ma a questi livelli è difficile poter recuperare così tanto terreno e quindi sono molto contento per il mio terzo posto per il lavoro svolto dalla mia squadra”.

Pochi decimi separano Mahias dal podio. Oettl è quinto
Si è disputata oggi al Motorland Aragon nei pressi di Alcaniz in Spagna la settima gara del Campionato Mondiale Supersport. Ieri il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing aveva festeggiato il secondo podio stagionale di Phillip Oettl (il quarto in questo campionato per il team di Manuel Puccetti) e oggi, in una giornata soleggiata e fresca, è tornato in pista per la settima gara prevista dal calendario 2020.
Anche oggi, grazie alle ottime prestazioni fornite in Superpole, entrambi i piloti sono scattati dalla prima fila, nella gara che si è disputata sulla distanza di 15 giri.
Ottima la partenza dei due alfieri del team Puccetti, con Mahias in seconda posizione davanti a Oettl. Nel proseguo della gara il francese manteneva il secondo posto, mentre il suo compagno di squadra perdeva una posizione, restando comunque sempre nel gruppo dei primi. Nel finale di gara Mahias lottava per il podio sino alla bandiera a scacchi, ma si doveva accontentare del quarto posto, a pochi decimi dal podio. Quinto posto invece per Oettl, leggermente più staccato.
Nella classifica del campionato Mahias è terzo con 86 punti, seguito da Oettl con 76.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il Campionato Mondiale Supersport è fissato per il weekend del 4, 5 e 6 settembre ancora al Motorland Aragon di Alcaniz in Spagna.

“In gara ho spinto oltre il limite in ogni giro, ma oggi il quarto posto penso fosse il miglior risultato che potevamo ottenere. Non so cosa avremmo potuto fare se avessimo avuto più potenza, ma di certo saremmo saliti sul podio, non so se al primo o al secondo posto. Avevo il passo gara necessario per vincere, ma perdevamo troppo sul dritto. Non sono soddisfatto della mia gara perché non siamo riusciti a salire sul podio, che sarebbe stato la giusta ricompensa per tutto il lavoro svolto in questo weekend, da me e dalla mia squadra. Sia io che la mia squadra abbiamo il potenziale per conquistare il podio, ma al momento alcuni dei nostri avversari sono ad un livello maggiore del nostro. Il lato positivo è che il telaio era perfetto per la gara odierna e questo mi rende felice”.

“Oggi non si poteva fare meglio del quinto posto. Abbiamo provato di tutto e la gara è stata più veloce di ieri, grazie alle condizioni atmosferiche più fresche. Non è stata una gara negativa. Abbiamo lottato per il secondo posto ma oggi non è stato possibile ottenerlo e mi sono dovuto accontentare del quinto. All’inizio il ritmo della gara del gruppo dei primi era piuttosto alto, e Lucas ha fatto un ottimo lavoro riuscendo a restare con loro. Anche il team ha fatto un ottimo lavoro in questo fine settimana, non abbiamo commesso errori ed il set-up della moto era quello giusto per le gare. Adesso analizzeremo un poco i dati raccolti e ci riposeremo per qualche giorno, prima delle prossime gare che disputeremo ancora qui”.

Ottavo posto in gara1 per Fores al Motorland Aragon
Il caldo dei giorni scorsi ha lasciato il posto a temperature più basse oggi al Motorland Aragon in Spagna, dove il Kawasaki Puccetti Racing sta disputando il quarto round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike.
Ieri Xavi Fores aveva disputato due sessioni di prove libere, concluse al quindicesimo posto con il tempo di 1’52”013. Questa mattina lo spagnolo è tornato in pista per il terzo ed ultimo turno di libere, nel quale è riuscito a migliorarsi e a far segnare il crono di 1’51”750, terminando al sedicesimo posto nella classifica cumulativa delle tre sessioni.
La quarta Superpole stagionale si è disputata in tarda mattinata. Inizialmente Fores ha utilizzato pneumatici da gara, ma una volta montate le gomme da qualifica ha migliorato il suo best lap e con il tempo di 1’50”129 ha concluso al tredicesimo posto.
In seguito a questo risultato il pilota del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing ha preso il via dalla quinta fila nella prima gara di questo weekend, che ha preso il via nel pomeriggio e che si è disputata sulla distanza di 18 giri.
Dopo una buona partenza Fores nei primi giri perdeva alcune posizioni e transitava attorno al quattordicesimo posto. Da li però iniziava la sua rimonta che a metà gara lo vedeva in decima posizione. Nel finale Xavi manteneva un buon ritmo che gli permetteva di salire sino all’ottavo posto finale che rappresenta al momento il suo miglior risultato stagionale.
Domani, sempre al Motorland Aragon, Fores sarà impegnato nella Superpole Race, che si corre sulla distanza di soli 10 giri, mentre nel pomeriggio disputerà la terza ed ultima gara di questo quarto round, ancora sulla distanza di 20 giri.

“In gara sono partito bene, ma nei primi giri non mi sentivo a mio agio sulla moto. Facevo fatica soprattutto in staccata ed ho perso alcune posizioni. Nei giri successivi sono riuscito a guidare meglio e a trovare un ritmo veloce. Sentivo di avere il passo giusto per stare nel gruppo degli inseguitori, ma il terreno perso nei primi giri mi ha impedito di lottare per una posizione migliore dell’ottavo posto finale, che non è comunque un risultato da buttare via. Oggi abbiamo fatto un sensibile passo in avanti e sono riuscito a guidare come preferisco, senza commettere errori. Siamo sulla strada giusta e dobbiamo continuare a lavorare così. Domani spero di fare una buona Superpole Race per migliorare la mia posizione in griglia in gara2”.
Costanti miglioramenti per Fores al Motorland Aragon
Giornata soleggiata ma fresca quella odierna al Motorland Aragon in Spagna, dove si è concluso il quarto round del Campionato Mondiale Superbike.
Ieri Xavi Fores, il pilota del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, aveva ottenuto il suo miglior risultato stagionale, tagliando il traguardo di gara1 in ottava posizione e mostrandosi sempre più a proprio agio sulla ZX-10R del team italiano.
Questa mattina il pilota spagnolo è tornato in pista per disputare la Superpole Race, gara sprint che si disputa sulla distanza di 10 giri. A seguito del risultato ottenuto in Superpole, Xavi ha preso il via dalla quinta fila in tredicesima posizione. La sua partenza è stata buona e gli ha consentito di mantenere lo stesso piazzamento sino a metà gara, quando ha recuperato una posizione, per poi concludere al dodicesimo posto.
Nel pomeriggio si è disputata gara2. Fores è partito abbastanza bene, portandosi subito al nono posto. Nei giri successivi ha incrementato il proprio ritmo ed ha raggiunto il gruppo degli inseguitori, che era composto da molti piloti, alcuni dei quali su moto ufficiali. Xavi ha lottato a lungo con loro, scambiando continuamente le posizioni con i suoi avversari e dimostrando di trovarsi a proprio agio sulla sua Ninja. Dopo un accesa bagarre con i piloti del suo gruppo, il pilota del Kawasaki Puccetti Racing ha tagliato il traguardo all’undicesimo posto.
Il prossimo appuntamento con il Campionato Mondiale Superbike è fissato per il weekend del 4,5 e 6 settembre ancora al Motorland Aragon di Alcaniz in Spagna.

“Nella Superpole Race non sono partito benissimo. Ho cercato di spingere al massimo in tutti e dieci i giri, ma non avevo una buon feeling con la moto a causa del poco grip al posteriore. Non è stata una buona gara, ma è servita per raccogliere i dati dei quali avevamo bisogno ed i risultati si sono poi visti in gara2, che è stata forse la migliore di quelle che ho disputato quest’anno. Il risultato è bugiardo, perché avremmo meritato di più, ma la cosa importante è che mi sono trovato a mio agio sulla Ninja ed ho potuto finalmente guidare come preferisco. Abbiamo ancora qualche difficoltà nelle frenate molto forti, ma nel tratto guidato della pista e nei cambi di direzione eravamo a posto. Sono soddisfatto perché oggi abbiamo lottato ad armi pari con tre moto ufficiali e questo è il segnale che siamo sulla strada giusta. Un grande grazie alla squadra che ha svolto un grande lavoro”

“It was a positive round. The second Superbike race was Fores’ best of the season so far. He was able to fight as part of the second group against factory riders and even stay in front of them. A high-level race that we were waiting for from the start of the season and that confirms the validity of the work done by both our rider and team. Yesterday, Oettl scored his second podium in Supersport, our fourth podium of the season, while today our riders suffered due to a lack of engine power. Yesterday’s Superpole allowed both our riders to line up on the front row, so that result and Phillip’s podium were definitely high points, while in race 2 they couldn’t do more than they did, considering that Mahias was nevertheless battling for the podium until the final stages.”

Oettl scores a podium finish at Motorland Aragon!
The Motorland Aragon circuit today hosted the Superpole and first race making up round four of the Supersport world championship. Yesterday saw Kawasaki Puccetti Racing riders Phillip Oettl (1’55”520) and Lucas Mahias (1’56”153) complete the first two free practice sessions, which they closed in fifth and eighth place respectively.
In this morning’s third and final practice, both were able to significantly improve on yesterday’s performance, with Oettl (1’54”339) finishing in third place and Mahias fifth (1’55”071).
In the fourth Superpole of the 2020 WorldSS season, which took place in the late morning, Manuel Puccetti’s riders both did very well, earning themselves places on the front row of the grid for the races taking place today and tomorrow. Oettl stopped the clock on 1’53”521 to finish second, just ahead of Mahias who set a best of 1’53”850.
In the afternoon’s 15-lap race, the two Kawasaki Puccetti Racing riders got away well when the lights went out, with Mahias quickly moving into the lead, closely followed by team-mate Oettl. Over the subsequent laps they remained a part of the leading group, composed of six riders. At the start of lap four, Mahias unfortunately came into contact with another rider, which caused him to run off track and lose a great deal of ground, while Oettl was lapping third. The German rider held third all the way to the finish line, thus earning his second podium of the season, while Mahias concluded the race in fifth place.
Tomorrow will see the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing riders taking part in the seventh race of the 2020 Supersport season, again at Motorland Aragon.

“Again a difficult race and I do not know why we lost the group in the fight with Vinales. After that it was not possible to come back but this is the new Supersport racing. Riders pushing on the limit in the beginning and then you lose the group because everybody is trying to overtake rapidly. Pushing so hard so early is just stupid. But, now we have three more races on this track and we will continue our work tomorrow.”

“The team did a great job because we struggled a little bit yesterday with the front feeling but it was also a lot hotter then. Right away from this morning we had a good pace and in qualifying we also did a good job. I was happy that I could end up on the podium in the race. I saw that Lucas and Vinales had a bit moment in turn one and then I saw a gap develop. I though ‘Ok, now I have to push a lot to maybe make my own gap and even try to get to the front.’ Then I saw Locatelli pass Cluzel and normally this is the move for the race win. I tried to catch up with Cluzel but on this level it is hard to make up that much ground, so I am happy with the race and the work of the team.”

Mahias misses the podium by a fraction of a second. Oettl finishes fifth.
The seventh race of the Supersport world championship played out today at the Motorland Aragon track near Alcaniz in Spain. Yesterday Kawasaki Puccetti Racing celebrated their second podium of the season with Phillip Oettl (the fourth for Manuel Puccetti’s team so faqr this year) and today, in cool but sunny conditions, they were back on track for the seventh race of this 2020 championship.
Like yesterday and thanks to their strong performance in Superpole, both riders started from the front row, in the race that took place over 15 laps.
The team Puccetti riders made a strong start, with Mahias lying second ahead of team-mate Oettl. As the race went on, the Frenchman held second, while Phillip lost one position but remained part of the leading group. Mahias fought for the podium all the way to the line but he ultimately had to settle for fourth place, just a few tenths of a second from the rostrum. Oettl closed in fifth place, slightly further back.
In the championship standings, Mahias is third with 86 points, followed by Oettl with 76.
The next round of the Supersport world championship is set to take place next weekend (4-6 September) at the same Motorland Aragon circuit.

“In the races I am pushing on the limit every lap but I think fourth is the best we can do for sure. I do not know where I would be in the race if we had more, the podium for sure, but first or second I do not know. I have race pace to win but it is impossible to come back after the straights. I am not happy with the race because you do not have the podium as a ‘present’ after a full weekend working well with my crew. Normally the podium can be a reward for all of us. I have the potential for the podium, the team has the potential but for the moment some of the others are on a different level. The good point is that the chassis was perfect for this race today and I am very happy about this.”

“Today P5 was the maximum. We tried everything and the race was faster than yesterday because of the cooler conditions. It was not a big drama. We were fighting for second place but it was not possible today and I had to settle for fifth. In the beginning the front running pace was quite high and Lucas did a great job to stay with them. The team also did a great job this weekend, we did nothing bad, and the bike set-up was good for the races. Now we will analyse things a bit, not too much, and have a few days of rest before the next race here.”

Eighth for Fores in race 1 at Motorland Aragon
Today’s action at Motorland Aragon in Spain brought cooler temperatures for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing that is taking part in the fourth round of the Superbike world championship.
Yesterday Xavi Fores took part in the first two practice sessions, finishing fifteenth overall with a time of 1’52”013. This morning the Spaniard was back out for the third and final practice in which he was able to further improve and set a time of 1’51”750, closing sixteenth overall in the combined standings.
The fourth Superpole of the season took place in the late morning. At first, Fores lapped with race tyres but once he put in the qualifying solution, he was able to improve on his best lap and finish thirteenth with a time of 1’50”129.
This meant that the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider lined up on the fifth row of the grid for the weekend’s first 18-lap race which took place this afternoon.
Having made a good start, Fores lost a few places through the opening laps and was lapping in around fourteenth place. He began to recover and was up to tenth place by the mid-race point. In the final stages, Xavi maintained a good pace which allowed him to cross the line in eighth position, his best result of the season so far.
Tomorrow, again at Motorland Aragon, Fores will compete in the Superpole Race, which runs over 10 laps, followed by the third and final race of this fourth SBK round.

“I made a good start in the race but over the first laps I didn’t feel comfortable on the bike. I was struggling particularly with the braking and lost a few places. Over the next laps I was able to ride better and get into a good rhythm. I felt I had the right pace to be with the chasing group but the ground I lost early on prevented me from fighting for anything better than eighth, though that isn’t too bad in the end. Today we’ve taken a decent step forward and I was able to ride as I wanted, without making mistakes. We’re on the right track and need to continue to work like this. Tomorrow I hope to complete a good Superpole race to improve my grid position for race 2.”

Continuous progress for Fores at Motorland Aragon
Conditions were sunny yet cool today at Motorland Aragon, Spain for the conclusion of the fourth round of the Superbike world championship.
During yesterday, Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider Xavi Fores scored his best result of the season so far, crossing the line eighth in race 1 and proving to be at ease on the Italian team’s ZX-10R.
This morning saw the Spaniard line up to compete in the 10-lap Superpole race. His result in yesterday’s Superpole meant Xavi lined up on row five, in thirteenth position on the grid. He made a good start, holding his position until mid-race, after which he made up one place to cross the line twelfth.
Race 2 got underway in the early afternoon. Fores got away quite well, moving straight up into ninth place. Increasing his pace over subsequent laps, he was able to reach the chasing group, comprising many riders, some of whom were on factory bikes. Xavi battled long and hard with them as they continued to exchange positions, the Spaniard appearing comfortable aboard his Ninja. After a real fight with the riders in his group, the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider concluded the race in eleventh position.

“I didn’t make the best start in the Superpole race. I tried to push as hard as I could over the ten laps, but I didn’t have good feeling with the bike due to a lack of grip at the rear. It wasn’t a good race, but it did provide us with useful data for race 2, one which brought better results and was perhaps the best of those I’ve completed this season. The race result is deceptive, because we deserved more, but the important thing is that I felt comfortable on the Ninja and was finally able to ride it as I like. We still have some difficulty with the hard braking but did ok through the mixed section and changes of direction. I’m pleased because we battled on equal terms with three factory bikes and this shows that we’re on the right track. A big thank-you to the team for all their great work.”
