Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu due volte terzo a San Juan, nella Superpole Race e in gara2
Ultima giornata di gare per il Turkish Puccetti Racing all’autodromo San Juan Villicum in Argentina, nel dodicesimo e penultimo round del campionato mondiale Superbike.
Dopo l’ottimo terzo posto ottenuto ieri da Toprak Razgatlioglu in una Gara 1 caratterizzata dalle difficili condizioni della pista, sporca e con molta sabbia, oggi il giovane pilota turco ha disputato altre due gare: la Tissot Superpole Race e Gara2.
Le temperature molto più basse ed i lavori realizzati per pulire la pista, hanno fatto si che la stessa oggi fosse in condizioni nettamente migliori rispetto a quelle di ieri e molto meno scivolosa.
Grazie alla quarta posizione ottenuta in Superpole, anche oggi Toprak è scattato dalla seconda fila nella gara che si è disputata in tarda mattinata sulla distanza di 10 giri.
La sua partenza è stata molto veloce e gli ha permesso di conquistare subito una posizione e di transitare terzo al termine del primo giro. Nel proseguo della gara il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing restava nel gruppo di testa assieme a Bautista e a Rea, con quest’ultimo che riusciva poi a staccare i suoi avversari, passando per primo sotto la bandiera a scacchi. Razgatlioglu cercava in tutti i modi di tallonare Bautista in attesa del momento buono per superarlo, ma complice un calo degli pneumatici, tagliava il traguardo al terzo posto.
L’ordine di arrivo della Superpole Race definisce anche la griglia di partenza di Gara2 e quindi con la sua terza posizione nella gara sprint, Toprak ha conquistato la prima fila nell’ultima gara del weekend che si è disputata sulla distanza di 21 giri.
Per il pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing Gara2 non è stata molto diversa rispetto alla precedente Superpole race. Anche in questa occasione Toprak è partito molto bene, portandosi subito a ridosso dei primi in terza posizione, ancora una volta in lotta per la vittoria con Reav e Bautista. Così come nella gara precedente era ancora Rea a staccare i suoi avversari. Nel corso del nono passaggio Davies si inseriva nelle prime posizioni e Razgatlioglu passava quarto, ma restava in questa posizione per soli quattro passaggi dopo di che superava Bautista e si insediava nuovamente al terzo posto, per mantenerlo sino al traguardo. Con questo risultato Topark porta a 13 il numero di podi conquistati in questa stagione, mentre sono ormai otto round consecutivi che il pilota turco conquista almeno un podio.
Nella classifica del campionato Razgatlioglu è quinto con 299 punti, a soli sei punti dalla terza posizione e ieri si è aggiudicato la matematica vittoria della speciale classifica degli “Indipendent Riders 2019”.
Il prossimo ed ultimo appuntamento con il campionato mondiale Superbike è fissato per il weekend del 24, 25 e 26 ottobre sul circuito di Losail in Qatar.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Un’altra giornata eccezionale con altri due podi. La Superpole Race e Gara2 hanno avuto uno svolgimento molto simile. In entrambe sono scattato molto bene al via e mi sono portato subito alle spalle dei primi due. Nella gara sprint ho visto subito che Rea aveva un passo superiore ed ho cercato di restare incollato a Bautista per poterlo superare nel finale, ma avevo chiesto troppo alle mie gomme e non ho voluto rischiare una caduta, accontentandomi del terzo posto. Anche in Gara2 Rea è stato irraggiungibile, mentre avevo visto che potevo superare Bautista. Verso il decimo giro però Davies ci ha superati entrambi. Ho superato subito Bautista per non lasciare scappare Davies, ma il gallese oggi aveva un ritmo superiore al nostro. Ho comunque chiuso ancora terzo, portando a tredici il numero di podi ottenuti in questa stagione. Un bilancio fantastico che sinceramente non pensavo di poter ottenere al mio secondo anno in Superbike e per questo devo ringraziare tanto la mia squadra che mi ha sempre supportato al massimo”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “Non pensavamo di poter vivere un weekend più emozionante di quello di Magny Cours e invece qui in Argentina abbiamo ottenuto dei risultati eccezionali, salendo sul podio in tutte le quattro gare disputate. Toprak è stato ancora una volta fantastico, così come la sua squadra che gli ha messo a disposizione una moto velocissima. Mahias ha ormai superato i problemi che lo limitavano ad inizio stagione e lo ha dimostrato anche oggi con il suo quinto podio consecutivo. E’ una stagione memorabile che vogliamo concludere al meglio in Qatar dove puntiamo al terzo posto del campionato Superbike ed al titolo di miglior Independent Team, pur avendo schierato un solo pilota”.
Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu two third places in the Superpole Race and Race 2 at San Juan
Turkish Puccetti Racing have completed the twelfth and penultimate round of the Superbike world championship at the San Juan Villicum circuit in Argentina today.
After having scored a third-place finish in yesterday’s Race 1, characterised by dirty, sandy track conditions, Toprak Razgatlioglu competed in a further two races today, the Tissot Superpole Race and Race 2.
The much lower temperatures and work carried out to clean the track meant that the asphalt was in a much better condition today and a lot less slippery.
Thanks to the fourth-place finish scored in Superpole, Toprak once again got away from the second row of the grid for the morning’s 10-lap sprint race.
He made a very fast start which allowed him to quickly made up one position and place third after just one lap. As the race went on, the Turkish Puccetti Racing rider remained part of the leading group along with Bautista and Rea, the latter able to break away from his rivals to cross the line first. Razgatlioglu did all he could to move in on Bautista and wait for the right time to pass, but due also to a drop in tyre performance, he crossed the line in third place.
The Superpole Race result also defines the Race 2 grid and so having finished the sprint race third, Toprak was on the front row for the final race of the weekend which ran over 21 laps.
For the Turkish Puccetti Racing rider, Race 2 was not so different to the earlier Superpole race. Toprak once again got away well, moving into third place and once again fighting for the win against Rea and Bautista. As in the previous race, Rea again broke away, Davies then moving up to the front during lap nine. Razgatlioglu was lying fourth, but only for four laps after which he was able to pass Bautista to move back into third place, a position he held to the line. Toprak has now scored 13 podiums this season, achieving at least one such result in all of the last eighth consecutive rounds.
Razgatlioglu is fifth in the championship standings with 299 points, but only six points from third. Yesterday he also secured the “2019 Independent Riders” title.
The final round of the Superbike world championship will take place over the weekend of 24-26 October at the Losail circuit in Qatar.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Another exceptional day with two more podiums. The Superpole race and Race 2 both went in a similar way. I started well in both and was able to move in behind the leading pair. In the sprint race, I saw that Rea had stronger pace and I tried to stick with Bautista to be able to pass him in the final stages but I’d asked too much of the tyre and I didn’t want to risk a crash, so I settled for third. In race 2, Rea was unbeatable, but I saw I could pass Bautista. But then towards lap ten, Davies passed us both. I immediately got back past Bautista so that Davies couldn’t get away but the Welshman had stronger pace today. I finished third again anyway, and now have thirteen podiums in all this season. A fantastic result that I really didn’t expect to achieve on only my second year in Superbike. For this reason, I must thank my team for always giving me maximum support”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “We didn’t think we could have a more emotional weekend than that of Magny Cours but now we’ve achieved exceptional results here in Argentina too, reached the podium in all four of the weekend’s races. Toprak has done a fantastic job again, as has his team, giving him such a fast bike. Mahias has overcome the problems that limited him earlier in the season and he showed that again today by scoring his fifth consecutive podium. It’s a memorable season that we want to conclude in the best way in Qatar, where we’ll push for third place overall in the Superbike championship, as well as that of best Independent Team, despite us having only one rider”.
