Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu è quinto nell’ultima gara in Qatar
Si è concluso oggi al Losail International Circuit in Qatar, la trentunesima edizione del Campionato Mondiale Superbike. Dopo le prove libere di giovedì (il round del Qatar si disputa da giovedì a sabato), la Superpole e Gara 1 disputata ieri, oggi il Turkish Puccetti Racing ed il suo pilota Toprak Razgatlioglu sono tornati in pista per disputare la Tissot Superpole race e la seconda ed ultima gara di questo tredicesimo ed ultimo round.
Dopo il decimo posto ottenuto in Superpole, in Gara1 Toprak ha sofferto per alcuni problemi di aderenza all’anteriore ed ha terminato in undicesima posizione.
La Tissot Superpole Race si è disputata nel pomeriggio in una giornata molto calda. Così come ieri anche oggi Razgatlioglu ha preso il via dalla quarta fila, nella gara che si è disputata sulla distanza di dieci giri.
Purtroppo proprio poco prima della partenza, un problema elettronico ha costretto Toprak a rientrare nel suo box e a rinunciare alla gara.
Gara ha preso il via alle 20 ora locale. La partenza del pilota del Turkish Puccetti Racing è stata molto buona e nonostante scattasse dalla quarta fila, il pilota turco ha chiuso il primo giro in sesta posizione. Nei giri seguenti Toprak si è mantenuto nel gruppo degli inseguitori, passando dal sesto al settimo posto sino al giro finale nel quale ha spinto al massimo superando due dei piloti che lo precedevano, andando a conquistare la quinta posizione.
Nella classifica del campionato Razgatlioglu chiude al quinto posto con 315 punti, mentre il Turkish Puccetti Racing conquista il titolo di Independet Team 2019.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Purtroppo non ho potuto prendere il via nella Superpole Race a causa di un problema elettronico e questo mi ha dato ancora maggiori motivazioni per l’ultima gara del weekend, in quanto volevo ottenere il terzo posto in campionato e volevo salutare il mio team con un buon risultato. Alla fine non ci sono riuscito ed ho chiuso al quinto posto una gara comunque positiva, nella quale ho dato il massimo. Si conclude così non solo la mia stagione 2019 ma anche la mia storia con il team Puccetti e questo mi rende triste perché ho trascorso ben cinque anni con loro. Manuel è stato un padre per me ed i tecnici erano i miei fratelli. Insieme abbiamo formato un gruppo fantastico che è stato in grado di conquistare vittorie e podi. Lascio una famiglia alla quale sarà sempre affezionato e chissà che in futuro le nostre strade non tornino ad incrociarsi”.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “Si conclude questa sera una stagione davvero fantastica per il nostro team. Quinti in gara oggi e quinti in campionato, vincendo le classifiche degli Independent Riders e degli Independent Team, nonostante noi schierassimo un solo pilota contro squadre che ne hanno schierati due. Risultati incredibili, ai quali vanno aggiunti i tredici podi conquistati in Superbike ed i sei podi consecutivi ottenuti in Supersport. Siamo orgogliosi di aver portato un pilota come Toprak ai vertici del mondiale Superbike, dopo aver lo fatto crescere nell’arco dei cinque anni che ha trascorso con noi. Ora ha fatto una scelta diversa e gli auguriamo di cuore ogni fortuna. Siamo molto contenti anche di quanto abbiamo fatto assieme a Mahias, che oggi ci ha regalato una vittoria, su di una pista dove non avevamo mai vinto in precedenza. E’ stato un anno magico, forse tra i più belli di sempre”.
Turkish Puccetti Racing – Razgatlioglu is fifth in the final race in Qatar
The 31st edition of the Superbike world championship has concluded at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Following Thursday’s free practice sessions (the Qatar round plays out from Thursday to Saturday) and yesterday’s Superpole and Race 1, Turkish Puccetti Racing and its rider Toprak Razgatlioglu were back on track today for the Tissot Superpole race and the second and final race of this thirteenth round.
Having scored tenth place in Superpole, Toprak suffered with some front grip issues in race 1, crossing the line in eleventh place.
The Tissot Superpole Race took place this afternoon in very hot conditions. Like yesterday, Razgatlioglu once again lined up on row four of the grid for the 10-lap sprint race.
Unfortunately, shortly before the start, an electronic problem forced Toprak to return to the garage and retire from the race.
Race 2 started at 8pm local time. The Turkish Puccetti Racing rider made a good start and, despite starting from the fourth row, the Turk was into sixth by the end of lap one. Over the subsequent laps, Toprak remained part of the chasing group, going from sixth to seventh place where he remained until the last lap, when he pushed to the max to pass two riders ahead of him, crossing the line in fifth place.
In the championship standings, Razgatlioglu closes in fifth place with 315 points, while the Turkish Puccetti Racing wins the 2019 Independet Team title.

Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Unfortunately I couldn’t start the Superpole Race due to an electronic problem and this gave me even more motivation for the final race of the weekend, in that I wanted to secure third place in the championship and leave my team with a good result. In the end, I didn’t manage it and closed in fifth place, but the race was positive and I gave it my all. This is the end of not only the 2019 season but my adventure with team Puccetti and this makes me sad because I’ve spent five years with them. Manuel has been a father to me and the technicians were my brothers. We made a fantastic group and were able to score wins and podiums. I’m leaving a family that I will always be close to and, who knows, perhaps our paths will cross again in the future”.

Fifth in today’s race and fifth in the championship, winning the Independent Riders and Independent Team titles, despite us running with only one rider, against teams that fielded two. We are proud to have brought a rider like Toprak to the top of world Superbike, having seen him grow throughout his five years with us. He’s now chosen a different path and we wish him the very best.
